Edith and her family who work at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hearty and varied each morning. The hotel was clean and charming, and the tours they sponsored were terrific. The hotel's location is convenient to shops and restaurants. more

The Taura'a Hotel seems to get very mixed reviews, either extremely friendly & enthusiastic or much more sceptical. To start with then, the objective facts. There are two blocks , the nicer with four rooms where we stayed & another of six, including the family room, backing onto quite a busy road. They are all set in an attractive small... more

We were pleasantly surprised by the light airy room and pleasant functional bathroom. it is difficult to compare with other hotels on the island when we have not seen any of them. The room was well equipped with quality linens and with the added bonus of a fridge. Unfortunately the pillows had a slightly musty air which mus be difficult... more

I stayed at Tauraa on October 5th. Edith and family could not have been more welcoming. I paid $180 as agreed in advance. I had a lovely room (#1) with all essentials. Breakfast was perfect as was the pick up from the harbour and drop off at the airport. Can't reccomend it enough. Five minutes from anywhere and plenty of... more

The hotel is possibly suffering from its “Tripadvisor fame”. We booked a room in advance and negotiated a rate of 180US$ for our one night stay. When it came to paying, the bill included an optional tip of 20US$ bringing it to a total of 200US$. I never had tip added to my hotel bill before and asked for it... more

We were really looking forward to making the journey to Easter Island this year. The most isolated and remote place on Earth and home of the Rapa Nui ruins. It is a lengthy trip and can be very expensive. Once on the island, you can understand why. As the most secluded/remote island in the world---one should be willing to pay... more

Stayed for four nights at the Hotel Taura'a in August, and would gladly return. The location is perfect - just off the main street, a close walk to restaurants, internet cafes, and bike/scooter rentals. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful as well. Since its Easter Island, the rooms are pretty basic, but in no way are they uncomfortable. The... more

Easter Island is an amazing destination and it's well worth spending some time there if you make the journey. Staying at Hotel Tauraa enhanced my experience on the island. The staff here was friendly and attentive, and they were willing and able to give suggestions or make arrangements with no hassle at all. The rooms were comfortable and clean and... more

Our accomodation here was wonderful and we looked forward to our breakfasts each morning (omelettes, crepes, etc.) always with a fruit smoothie, French press coffee, and freshly baked bread. The hospitality was great and we even had hugs from the hotel owner when she dropped us off at the airport when it was time to leave. I highly recommend Tauraa... more
