We stayed here for three nights during a wine business trip in the region. Fortunately our GPS had the actual street name, because finding the Mas would otherwise have been a challenge. The small road leads you to believe you're going nowhere, and then suddenly a magical transformation of welcoming lights and excited, happy dogs.Charles Barail gave us a great... More

Dear Toronto wine lovers ! I really cannot find the words to express my thanks for your great review. I am very pleased to learn that I've been able to help you finding a reliable new supplier for your wine business. I'm also pleased to read that though Andrée, my wife, was away from home during your stay, you have... More

I was traveling from Australia and had never been to Provence and was looking for a rural setting and spent 8 days at the mas of Charles and Andree. I have rated it 5 of 5 on every aspect, and it is one of the more restful and relaxing holidays I have ever had. It is also a very good... More

This place is amazing. If you want an authentic Provencal experience, look no further. We stayed in the Ventoux apartment - the views were out of this world. The apartment overlooks the vineyards and famous Mont Ventoux. The sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking and the place is a complete sanctuary of peace. Charles was a splendid host and the croissants... More

Thank you so much for your great review about le Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat. There are 4 units : "Ventoux" and "Montmirail" are at the 2nd floor with the same breathtaking view over the "Mont Ventoux" and the "dentelles de Montmirail". Another apartment "Ouveze", at the 1st floor has also the same view from its private shadowy terrace. And... More

The vision of a perfect Provencal farmhouse, with the unexpected addition of charming owners. Could not ask for more - if we are ever in the region again we would not think of staying elsewhere. More

My wife and I did not stay at the Mas de Clos de l'Escarrat but we did contact Charles about his wine tour. This was the highlight of out eigth days in Provence. He started us with a sniffing test of various fragrances as a prelude to our upcoming experience. Then we spent over half a day with Charles touring... More

What is interesting in your review is that you are stating that you did not stay with us. Indeed we accept to propose wine tours even to people who are staying at another place nearby. Basically the wine tour consists in visiting 4 wineries, one chocolate manufacturer to experience wine and chocolate pairing and, time permitting a sniffing test of... More

Our family of three (including our 3-yr-old daughter) stayed at Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat for six nights in early June. As we drove up to the property on a small gravel road I felt is if we were entering a fairy tale. This old stone home surrounded by the most beautiful gardens immediately made me feel at peace. We... Yes your little darling girl is so nice, she behaved so well even during the wine tasting tour that we loved her immediately as if she was our grand daughter. That's true. Concerning your other very great comments about le Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat, I will just say also that they could be written by us to promote our... More

My husband teased me for titling the itinerary for this trip "France, vacation of a lifetime!" but it was! And far and away my (and his) favorite part was the wine tour and home-cooked gourmet meal with hosts who by the end of the evening felt like friends that we enjoyed at Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat. We visited 15... More

Your comparison with Halekulani in Oahu is just UNBELIEVABLE ! But I believe you ! We don't provide the same comfort, the same roomy apartments, marble bathrooms... but for sure we try to make our guests feeling "at home", here at le Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat. And the view over le Mont Ventoux is just breathtaking. Not to speak... More

We stayed at the Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat from April 23-30. It was very enjoyable for my wife and I. Charles and Andrée were excellent hosts throughout our stay. We had rented a car and took several day trips to some of the nearby sites and cities. Charles is helpful with sightseeing tips and directions. We spent one of... More

Prior to my recent trip to Provence and the French Riviera with my wife, I eagerly awaited no part of the trip more than the couple of days we had scheduled at Mas du Clos de l'Escarrat, which included an afternoon of wine tasting and dinner with our hosts Charles and Andree.
