Wonderful, warm inviting hostess Mary was a joy to be around. The food was delicious, the service superb, and the front porch "relaxation mode" was just what we needed to unwind from our busy lifestyle. Couldn't of asked for a better place to stay or a better hostess to sit down and chat with. Nova Scotia at it's finest! more

Carwarden (pronounced 'Car-Den') is a historic property in the Annapolis Valley, in the heart of rural Nova Scotia, owned and operated as a bed and breakfast by Mrs Mary McMahon. We've stayed at Carwarden in 1996, 1997, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008. The number of return visits speaks for itself, especially as we have to travel 3,000 miles each time.... more

Even before we had arrived in Nova Scotia Mary McMahon, the proprietor of Carwarden, was great in providing detailed directions and suggesting travel itineraries for our journey from Halifax to Port Williams. After our second stay at this great historic property, I had to write a review, but hardly know how to begin. Owner Mary McMahon has maintained this 100-year plus home overlooking the Fundy Coast in immaculate condition and it is populated with beautiful furniture and simple, but pleasing artwork.
