I am an expatriate living in Zambia, who recently went to Kabwe on a business trip and stayed at Tuskers Hotel. First, I was made to pay upfront. So ended up paying for one night, which was a blessing in disguise. The hotel staff were unfriendly and rude from reception. The room was over priced (compared to other accommodation in... More

Kabwe is not a typical destination but once you get there the only decent place to stay is "Tuskers Hotel". We did some environmental work and occupied 4 rooms. Everyone was very happy with both the rooms, front desk, dining area and pool / outdoor seating area. I'm going back soon and would definitely stay there. Here are some things... More

We went to the restaurant only. As in all of Zambia, service is extremely slow but friendly enough. This place has a rustic charm. We sat outside in the grass up above the empty pool (in July) and enjoyed the weather, sounds of the street... food is very good. Go with the chicken or pizza dishes Bathrooms work with running... Rooms were adequate and clean. Food generally ok but service could be very slow. Either desk staff are not good with English or maybe low intelligence. Difficult to get information from. Pity the idiots who were repairing the road out front did not have the Hotel's interests in mind. closed off all road entrances every day of our stay. Would... More

When it comes to eating, choices in central Kabwe are very, very limited. It's either Tuskers, street food or the local sandwich bar. Service was slow and the food pretty tasteless. On the positive side, the ambiance was good and none of us suffered any stomach upsets.

i'm just a backpacker who stayed at tuskers, so at first i felt a bit uncomfortable with all the businessmen that are at tuskers. The food is the best in town, my friends who live in Kabwe are saying the same. Our room got cleaned very nice every day. The service was good as well. We had a bath in... More

The Tuskers Hotel is a large multi-storey affair in the heart of Kabwe, directly across the street from the Shoprite supermarket complex. The location is pretty good if you want to walk around the town center or take an early morning run through the quiet residential suburbs. The streets around the hotel and the town are thoroughly potholed to such... More

Stayed one night en route. There is no elevator- be prepared to lug your bags but the staff is very willing to help. The dinner and breakfast were both very good. Bring cash- no credit accepted although they did accept US $. ...There is a nice grocery store across the street that came in handy.

We spent 7 nights at Tuskers. Our room and towels were freshened every day. We found the staff to be very accomodating. The restaurant is quite good- I highly recommend the ham and pineapple pizza!! The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The room air conditioners are very good. Bring cash, they do not accept credit cards. Overall a very... More

I stayed at Tuskers for four nights in early June 2008. The room was clean and the bathroom recently had been remodeled with new fixtures and tile. Water pressure was somewhat low, but sufficient for a shower. My room had a functioning AC/heater unit, a TV and tea making facilities. The full English breakfast (included) was good, as were other... More
