We visited this hotel on a half board basis for two days on our way to Italy and loved it so much that we had to return for an additional night coming back from Italy again. If you do visit this place, make sure to each there as well!! Hotel and rooms The first time we stayed in a two-room... More

Tucked away in Neidersteinbach in Upper Alsace the Au Cheval Blanc is a cosy small hotel with comfortable beds, outstanding restaurant and a friendly, helpful staff. In the summer enjoy the pool and miniature golf. Year round try the sauna, get a massage or use other facilities at its thermo-Spa. Hotel is a good base for visiting the WWII Maginot... More

Exceptionally personal service. Madam Zinck made us feel first class even though we showed up from the Spa in Dahn without a reservation! The cuisine combined the best of France and Germany as in the tradition of the region! The asparagus was amazing w/ three different sauces and a meal in itself, the venison was tender and the Menu my... More

Reserved 6 nights on demi pension to be told on the first night that we could not eat on the terrace and had to eat between 7-7:30 pm in the breakfast dining area- not as a la carte guests and other diners on the terrace or in the main dining areas ( and dine at any time). Not dealt with well... We have just returned from our third stay at this heavenly haven. Rooms are comfortable, elegant and spacious. The staff are beyond kind and caring and the food is truly and consistently superb. Our cassoulet of cepes to start followed by roast pheasant I doubt could be bettered anywhere in the world.

We stayed at the Cheval Blanc for 2 nights in September. What a gem we found! The hotel is in a small village just a few kilometers from the German border. It is the ideal place to get away from the rat-race for a few days and to re-charge the batteries. Just outside the hotel you can start hiking in... More

I've eaten at this hotel twice, the first time at a wedding banquet in 2010, and for dinner with three colleagues in 2012. On both occasions, I very much enjoyed the food. For the banquet, there was a seemingly nonstop flow of dishes for starter to dessert. The most recent visit was a quiter affair, ordering straight from the menu.... More

We had a four day half-board package for Christmas - we had a thoroughly enjoyable and restful time and it was extremely good value for money. Despite being an extremely busy time for the hotel, we found the staff helpful and friendly. It exceeded our expectations both for accommodation - quiet, clean, and with fridge, wifi and safe everything we... More

This is a very nice hotel in a great setting in a valley surrounded by trees. The hotel is very well equipped and the rooms very nice. My only complaint ws that I had ordered a business stay package but confusion of languages meant that I was a la carte (in a separate restaurant). Nonetheless the restaurant and food were... More

We booked two nights at the Cheval Blanc on our way back from Italy to the UK with our two children (4 and 8) and were completely enchanted. We had an apartment room in the "Villa" with two bedrooms and a bathroom (no sharing a room with the children – brilliant!), which was perfect. The hotel underplays its child-friendliness online....
