Enjoyed our 1 night stay lovely views from our bedroom, nice room and bathroom. Evening meal very good just enough choice to allow for excellent cooking. Breakfast was probably one of the most disappointing factors, but overall a lovely hotel with good service more

I booked a night here for a short getaway with my boyfriend. I loved the funky style and decor in the hotel. We stayed in a standard room which was smallish but comfortable and had a nice big bathroom. We had dinner in the restuarant, which was superb. The maynards owner (?) has clearly spent a lot of money in trying to turn the place into a trendy boutique hotel.Our suite had a huge flat screen tv on the wall, trendy furniture, a large stand alone bath as well as a shower/toilet room and twin wash basins.the view from our windows were very picturesqe.This was all very good... more

We booked 3 nights at the Maynard, based on recent reviews here and the fact that it had been recently refurbished. PROS: The location is good with Chatsworth House, Matlock Bath etc a relatively short drive away. Also very close to Curbar - stone cliff formation with good views. Food at the bar is good.
