I stayed in Hotel Ritschlay with four colleages for one night during an exploratory field research campaign in the nearby Beaufort - Reisdorf area in Luxembourg. Since we were out working in the field all day, all we needed was an affordable hotel nearby, with a good hearthy breakfast to get us started in the morning Hotel Ritschlay met these... More

This hotel, run by mother and son, is located in the hills (the roads are quite steep!), not near the river, just outside the village next to the youth hostel. The hotel hasn't been refurbished since the eighties or so, but the rooms are a good size, everything functions well, the owners are friendly and helpful and breakfast is good.... More

Being a vegetarian I didn't expect much in Germany, but this hotel went out of its way to please me with original and delicious food. The sauna was perfect and we even could assist a yoga session and join. The room was ok too. The view was great and the surrounding forests ideal for walks. The owner greatly helped us... More

I stayed at the Hotel Ritschlay in August, 2011, (actually), on a solo trip to Germany and Luxembourg. The proprietor was connected with the travel industry and he is well versed in the needs of the traveler. The Hotel is located near the top of a hill and overlooks the river separates Germany and Luxembourg and is perfect for relaxation... More

I stayed at Hotel Ritschlay when I was checking out my ancestors. The host is very helpful and speaks excellent English. The food in the hotel was excellent. The only drawback was you had to walk up a steep hill if you didn't have a car. The accomadations were clean and in very good shape considering it was also very... More

You can expect exceptional family service when you stay at Hotel Ritschlay. The hotel is conveniently located to many scenic walking trails if you're looking for some outdoor activity. The rooms are simple, but comfortable. Additionally, there's a fantastic sauna and mini-spa set up downstairs, which is a hidden gem. We dined in one evening, had a fantastic and reasonably... More

This was our second stay and we will be back for a third time. It's ideally located to start some nice (long) hikings. Certainly try the GPS-trips (ask the owner for more details). Meals are more than OK and the roomrates are hard to beat given the quality & service you get in return.

We stayed here for 3 nights on our way home from Alsace. Very well situated for wandering in the Eifel , close enough to a city for shopping (diekirch and echternach) , this hotel is located uphill in a quiet street . Beautiful view over the valley. Half-pension possible and very nice breakfast. The service by the owner is correct... More

We stayed for 4 nights in the hotel's "Four Seasons Apartments", some 200m from the main hotel. Clean and comfortable, with a walk out on to the lawn and a splendid view across the valley to Luxemburg. Proprieter is friendly and obliging, and speaks German, English, French and Spanish, and went the rounds in the dining room speaking to guests... More

From our arrival, we were made to feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for the owner and staff of this delightful hotel - a real gem and a well-kept secret! As two gay men travelling together, initial reception is always a concern, but we were welcomed wholeheartedly and treated extremely well throughout our stay. Rooms were large, well... More
