We found this pub by chance on Saturday and loved it. We have returned to London completely refreshed. The pub is owned by a chef and it shows. We had the best dinner in years in the restaurant and the breakfast fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and we will definitely be returning.

We visited the Plough Inn on Saturday/Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend. Despite being extremely busy the staff were polite and efficient, nothing could be too much trouble. We had lunch, enjoyed the afternoon at Kelmscott Manor before walking back to freshen up for supper. The menu was imaginative and catered for most tastes, but we would have preferred to... More

My husband and I stayed for two nights as we were attending a local wedding. It was amazing. We loved our whole weekend. Our double room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom was fab. Breakfast on both mornings was delicious, as was lunch and our evening meal on the Friday night. All the staff were very attentive, polite and helpful.... More

I rang in the morning "are you dog friendly and can I book a table for lunch ?" " No need - even if the bar is full we'll seat you in the restaurant ." A 30 mile drive later - no tables and we've temporarily stopped taking food orders. So I can't give a review - but I won't... More

We've been to the Plough on several occasions as we don't live far away. It is now under new management/ownership and the place is transformed. Beautifully decorated, great food, friendly staff and a picturesque location. Highly recommended, but worth calling in advance if you are planning a sit down meal. Have had a nose around the guest rooms and they... More

Visited the Plough for lunch and although only recently opened the restaurant was very well run and the food similar (good) quality to the sister \pub TheFive Alls at Filkins. The staff were pleasant and efficient and the seating comfortable, although we were on a banquette -chairs looked a bit hard for a protracted lunch!

A friend and I were looking forward to eating here after it had recently been taken over. Heard good things about all the renovations, so he booked lunch and we headed over. The service was friendly, the decor chic, but we were disappointed with the food. Like other reviewers have said, the sandwiches come with a few 'potato wafers' not... More

The best pub for ever! The best chef. The best welcome and the best service. Good value for money too. The food was superb. The warm smoked eel salad with croutons, pork scratchings, diced beet root and lettuce, washed down with a draft Guinness was a total and joyful surprise. What followed was even better. My wife and I love... More

On first apperances The Plough looks like a good honest riverside pub that will do a decent pint and a bite to eat for those walking along the river side or visiting Kelmscott. The sad thing is The Plough does neither. We ordered two sandwiches and two half pints of prawns. According to the menu the sandwiches came with chips.... More

A lovely situation especially ideal if you are visiting Kelmscott Manor as we were. Thought we would have a swift drink, view the Manor and return for lunch. A little surprised to find a glass of wine, a cider and some nuts was £14.75 but drinks were good. As we ordered in the Garden Bar only card accepted - no... More
