Friendly staff, a warm welcome, roaring log fire and Tribute on tap was a great indication we'd arrived at a gem of a pub, hidden a few miles away from Lechlade, along the River Thames. My wife and I both ordered beef and we asked if it could come "rare". Usually we're told in other pubs in the area that... More

Had a lovely weekend at this quaint location by the river. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, room and welcome of this pub. Menus cater for all tastes and palates. Beers and wines excellent and good choice along with the service. A*********

I'm walking the Thames Path in stages with 2 girlfriends and we stayed at The Plough at Kelmscott which is very conveniently placed on the route. The pub is very old, quaint and interesting, but also has a very welcoming homely ambience. William Morris's House is in the same village, so being able to look round that as well was... More

Recently stayed at the The Plough Inn for three nights. I have to say this was the nicest pub my husband and I have stayed in for a long time. When we arrived we were welcomed by friendly locals having their afternoon drinks. The next evening we were invited to the Land Lady Birthday party, it was also my husband... More

A really friendly pub tucked away on the Cotswold border. Great for using as a base to travel around in the day. A great cooked breakfast with good quality ingredients and thistle the pub dog is just lovely :-)

We booked a two night 'GoGroopie' deal at the Plough and were delighted with the result. Great staff, a very warm welcome and great service at all times. We stayed in the William Morris room which was very comfortable, nicely furnished and with a lovely bathroom. The Inn is very dog-friendly and the bar had a lovely atmosphere - frequented... More

We booked a 2 night stay here through one of those "here's today's deal" websites and were not disappointed in the slightest. We were met with a very warm welcome from the staff and the locals. After a very fast check in (this is the room, here's the keys, see you when you come down), we were back in the... More

This place has a lot going for it in terms of location, character and friendly staff but it just fails, perhaps because it has an absentee owner. The room was fairly average for £100 per night. Idiosyncratic plumbing (bath overflow not connected) made it easy to flood the bathroom. On our third day the room was not cleaned nor towels... More

This was our 3rd visit to The Plough. There will be a 4th. We really enjoy coming back here. Josie and her team are excellent. Very friendly. Very hospitable. Nothing is ever too much trouble. We stayed in a different room this time (Meadows) and although the view was not as nice, the room itself was every bit as comfortable.... More
