Having been pleased with The Five Alls at Filkins, we thought we would celebrate our 37th wedding anniversary at its sister pub The Plough. It was cold, apparently wood burner smokes! ( not MY problem). A vast dog bed and vaulting horse (seating) took up space not taken up by jolly, welcoming locals with their dogs ( a rare sight... More

Visited today for Sunday Lunch. Very impressed with a warm welcome and offer of refreshments. We were shown to our table and given time to peruse the menu which was as expected but everything sounded very tasty. The crab cakes to start were very fresh and enjoyable. Roast beef....slightly tough, nice and pink, great gravy and fab roast potatoes along... More

Fantastic food - a great menu. A delightful venue hidden in the depths of Kelmscott Staff very pleasant and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this for lunch or dinner. Booked to return next week- looking forward to it.

Another star for the Snows. What a find! Had lunch there with a friend and was so impressed tried to book again and it was full (twice!) Delicious simply fare served by a warm friendly welcoming staff and very reasonably priced. Will keep on trying.

The two of us visited The Plough for the first time yesterday (Nov.24th) for lunch. As far as we are concerned this place is spot on - it has a bar and drinking area worthy of a "real pub" .... as well as a beautifully presented restaurant serving wonderful food, together with friendly efficient staff and a log fire. Separate... More

Now owned by the 5Alls at Filkins , The Plough has good food, wines and beers . Staff are excellent . Not a large dining area so advised to book ,have dined once under its new ownership and added a further 2 booked nights with family and friends .

My husband and I discovered The Plough Inn at Kelmscott a few weeks ago and we loved it so much we keep coming back. The food is extraordinarily delicious, inventive, subtle but hearty too. There is a peaceful atmosphere even when its busy, which seems to seep out of the wonderful old stones. Decorated beautifully in contemporary but unique and... More

Despite it being a busy Friday evening, hats off to the chef and waitresses for laying on such a great 'foodie' experience for us. The presentation and taste of the food was excellent! All this in a lovely country pub atmosphere. Nice find. Well impressed!!

Because the chef at the nearby hotel we were staying at had an accident in the kitchen we were taken to the Plough at Kelmscott for our evening meal. It was delicious. We just loved the whole experience in this beautifully decorated restaurant serving excellent food in a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were impressed by the way all... More

Sad to see a nice pub change hands and become this. I arrived Saturday lunch time with three friends. We waited 15 minutes at the bar before we were served which was unnecessary. The landlord was clearly stressed and blurted something about being busy - yes, it was pretty full (mostly dogs & children), but other pubs manage with customers... More
