We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. The pub is in a lovely, picturesque location. We had a lovely warm welcome and when we asked if we could have a late check out the next morning we were advised we could - with no extra charge! This meant we had a lovely relaxing Sunday morning. The food was great, especially... More

My husband and I just stayed one night but wished it had been longer. We were greatest by a polish girl with a warm smile and friendly attitude. She showed us to our room and also served us later that night for supper. The food was amazing. I recommend the cheese soufflé to start . Our room was cosy, clean,... More

A lovely village pub just outside Cirencester. We visited for lunch on a hot day last summer en route to Cirencester Open Air Pool (yep, it was warm enough to swim outside in the uk!!!). The place was packed, which gave it a great atmosphere. The menu was good, but I would say usual 'gastro pub' fare - i.e. scallops,... More

We found this by chance while touring the Cotswolds. We were impressed with the service and décor, not to mention the home made bread, open fire and very stylish interior! Service was excellent. We only had a light lunch, soup and a terrine, but it was delicious. Will come again and stay for B&B.

Phoned up last minute, were told we could have a table at 9.15 but could come for a drink first. Arrived at 8pm.. greeted by friendly staff and had a drink at the bar. They were able to fit us in on a nice little table much earlier at 8.30pm. We had a burger and the pork belly. Great food... More

Beautiful setting and a warm welcome to the pub restaurant-we'd booked a table for three and having heard very good things, we were very much looking forward to it. Attentive service from the manager and drinks served fast with a good portion of fresh bread. Terrific menu-hard to choose! Scallops expensive but delicious starter and my friend's fish soup was... Stopped here for lunch on a wet day in the Cotswolds. Warm welcome from staff, excellent and unusual bar menu, first class service and food, roaring fire & plenty of magazines and papers to read. Not cheap but worth it! A wonderful stopover.

Been here many times over the years and can safely say I've never had a better cheese souffle! The food is always fantastic and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The pub itself is a great place to be and always had a brilliant warm atmosphere.

We went to Barnsley House for Afternoon Tea, but due to a mix-up with the time they started to serve (which we were pretty pi**ed off about), needed to find somewhere quickly to have lunch and were pointed in the direction of The Village Pub a couple of hundred yards away (also owned by Barnsley House). It was then with... More
