Popped in here for a sneaky drink ...and nearly fell over at the prices. Pretty, restaurant/pub with a great fireplace (unfortunately in the restaurant not in the bar) - and no doubt home to the Cotswold set- this is not a pub, more a trendy restaurant. Small glass of house red or white- £5.55 ish.... Food smelled great, staff were... More

Had a fantastic meal here on Saturday. We started with a nibble of the Black Pudding Scotch Quail Eggs, which were good, but not warm like they used to be served. I then had a beautifully fresh whole plaice cooked to perfection and at £16 an absolute bargain. My partner had haddock fishcakes which were OK, but not amazing but... More

The Village Pub never disappoints. We had booked to avoid disappointment and the four of us enjoyed a traditional roast beef. Hot plates, all the trimmings, cooked to perfection. So many places you can't guarantee the quality but here you can. Its top notch. Only one cristism was I would have preferred the vegetables seperated instead of all mixed but... More

first, this is a beautiful place, - lovely rooms, nice pub, great food, good staff, clean, beautifully decorated. i have left a rave review on the restaurant page for this property, but, the rooms are too expensive, the food & drink offering IS Great & good value for money but the rooms are overpriced, you are paying for location rather... Okay, its probably more of a restaurant with a small bar, but its a lovely place to go. Recently refurbished by the look of it, and very well done too. Food was of a reasonable standard, kind of the thing you'd expect from a decent gastro pub, Mussels, steaks, pies etc. Bedrooms were of an excellent standard, really very sweet... More

When we do treat ourselves to dinner out Barnsley is one of our first choices! Always fantastic service and faultless food. Hopefully they still have the duck salad on the menu, delicious! They also make a fantastic bloody mary. We will be returning!!!!

When researching where to stay in the Cotswolds we were directed towards Barnsley House for a luxurious spa weekend. We checked out the website and we're blown away by what we saw but sadly there were no rooms available for our dates. It was on the Barnsley House website that I came across The Village pub. Owned by the same... More

Enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Pub. Overall very impressed - lovely rooms, nice big bathrooms with decent showers and big bath. Good pub food, nicely presented, short wine list well chosen but a bit ordinary. Fabulous breakfasts with quite the best scrambled eggs I have ever had (probably large amounts of butter and cream involved but if on... More

Me and my friend Wiggy planned three nights at the Village Pub for a girlie mid week break away from our daily lives as we dont see much of each other these days. From the moment we got out the car, we were made to feel welcome and looked after. The fantastic Zultan was literally waiting for us, standing on... More
