A contemporary but traditional English pub, with good rooms and excellent food. Exactly what we expected. Some great draught beers and a sensible wine list catering for all tastes and budgets. Beautiful food in the evening, plenty of local foods including meat, fish, cheese etc. Service was competent if undistinguished, could have done with someone to help the single waiter... More

We are here for all meals while staying at Barnsley House as their kitchen was being refurbished. All meals were lovely & bigger than expected. It's very relaxing & cosy and has interesting things to look at on the walls. Staff were all welcoming & friendly.

This pub is connected to Barnsley House Hotel, which ensures consistent good service and management. The atmosphere is good, the jukebox is interesting and restaurant cosy with good food. Recommend - wise to book. Parking and good walks. Combine your visit to the hotel.

We had the good fortune to stay here over the Christmas period. Arriving on 24th December for three nights. Charming English pub in a beautiful Cotswold village. Dog friendly, always a plus with us. We had two rooms, one for ourselves one for our children. Both were very comfortable. We spent much of our time at Barnsley house, where the... More

I've stayed at the main hotel on many occasions but this time, as I was attending a work Christmas event in the pub, I decided to stay overnight there as well. It's a lot cheaper than the hotel as you would expect but the same touches extend here. The room itself was lovely with four poster bed and all amenities.... More

Stopped off for lunch with friends Loved the food, good quality ingredients, beautifully presented Service was warm and friendly It's a really pretty spot to stop for a leisurely lunch of stay for dinner. Did not see the rooms, but by all accounts they are reasonably spacious and comfortable.

Not been here for months and can only say that our decision proved so right . Only disappointment were the Hamburgers ordered by two mates. Dry and sadly tasteless and would be best left off the Menu which was outstanding !! My pheasant was sensational and all dishes ordered were excellent as was an innovative and kindly priced wine list.... More

I wanted to give my American girlfriend a taste of quintessential British countryside. The Village Pub fit the bill perfectly. Log fires, cosy chairs, comfy (and massive) beds and lovely, welcoming staff. Everyone at the Village pub was happy, helpful and tended to our every need. They even helped me with a little thanksgiving surprise for my girlfriend. The surrounding... More

Quaint country pub with a few rooms in a cute village away from The hustle and bustle. The rooms are small but well appointed - only criticism is that our mattress needed renewing - you could feel the springs in it! Food in the pub was good. A bit hit and miss at times but tasty locally obtained produce. A... More

A lovely place to stay. staff very friendly and helpful, (the only exception being that the chef would not exchange spinach for green beans!!!!) The accommodation is beautiful and bed very comfortable. The restaurant has a wonderful log fire which makes the ambience even better. Breakfast times are long so no rush to get up and eat. Again, lovely variety... More
