We stayed two nights at the White Hart, Cricklade in June. We were with 18 & 16 yr old g'kids. The staff were very friendly & helpful as we planned our Thames Path walk. The rooms were comfortable and food was delicious. We bussed from heathrow to Swindon & taxied to Cricklade. I left my I-pad on the bus. The... More

Arrived on foot from Thames Path to a lacklustre welcome in a slightly dingy bar. Young man at bar seemed mostly concerned with getting us to pay in advance, yet seemed unable to resolve a faulty invoice overcharging one of our party for a surplus breakfast. However, the rooms were clean with comfortable beds and white bedlinen and towels. While the... More

After finding the hotel online we had a look through their online menu. The menu had lots of meals that looked great and we decided to visit. On arrival it was quite quiet and initial service was ok. On receiving the menu it was not the same as the online menu and it was more expensive than the online menu!... More

Stayed for 2 nights over the may bank holiday weekend. Rooms were nice, comfortable beds, very clean. Food was very good, the usual pub grub plus kangaroo and ostrich! No food after 3 on Sundays but other places in the town serve food all day. Service was friendly but seemed a little disorganised. Good location for visiting Cirencester, free parking... More

I stayed one night with some mates while walking the Thames Path. We received a warmish welcome in a very empty bar. My room was a reasonable size with a good bathroom (shower over the bath giving both options). The room was comfortable and quiet and I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was adequate. All in all good... More

Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of January and found it very pleasant.Full of character and charm. The staff were very friendly, as were the locals. The room was very clean and I had plenty of space. I joined in with a group of locals at the Thursday night quiz and had a good laugh! Wouldn't hesitate to... More

My son and I found this to be an excellent place to stay while walking the Thames Footpath. We had a large, well appointed room, which had recently been refurbished at the front of the hotel overlooking High Street. The staff were hard working and made us feel very welcome. Our evening meals and continental breakfast were generous in size,... More

The room we stayed in was very comfortable and roomy, although in need of some refurbishment. The breakfast was good and the evening meal was exellent. We chose the continental breakfast and were served with lovely home cured ham and a selection of cheese as well as the food on the buffet. Very filling. We had a good nights sleep.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the threshold of the Cotswolds, the Saxon Town of Cricklade provides a tranquil and picturesque setting for rest and relaxation. For visitors seeking an alternative to the bland uniformity of many a modern town centre hotel, The White Hart offers an appealing individuality - open fires, beamed ceilings and stone flagged floors set the scene for a relaxing experience. Dating from the 17th century, the White Hart has proven to be a popular retreat for those appreciating good food, fine wine, real ales and comfortable cottage-style accommodation. On arrival, why not sample some of the real ales or fine wines available in the comfort of our warm and friendly bar and lounge? For a tasty snack or full meal, we provide a wide range of excellent traditional and modern dishes ... more   less
