We ate here on a sunday lunch time. Beware if you are not a dog lover best to avoid. Unfortunately it was raining and there was an overwhelming smell of wet dog in the bar area. The pub itself is run down and in need of some general maintenance. Carpets threadbare and wall's very marked. The toilets need refitting and... More

Stayed for one night whilst visiting a relative in Cricklade. The room was beautiful! Very new, bright, clean and nicely fitted out. However, the access to the room let it down. This was located around the back of the inn and there were steep stairs up to the rooms. (Unsuitable for the disabled). There was a beer festival on at... More

We went with 2 other couples (on the recommendation of one of the couples who had stayed at the Red Lion before) for the weekend and loved it. We stayed in the rooms out in the courtyard which were lovely with very comfortable beds; the rooms were well equipped with plenty of space. Breakfast was really good, quality ingredients and... The bar and the choice of beers is worth a visit alone. Even if you're not into real ales there's a good selection of ciders and a daily gin hour. The food in the restaurant was very good all obviously made on site with no sign of any pre-packaged ready meal type fair in sight. The room was quiet, large,... More

After looking at a lot of places on the internet we settled on The Red Lion as the reviews were good. We were not disappointed. We arrived and were lucky enough to find a space for our car nearby - the only minus being no really adequate allocated parking - you have to take your chance on the busy High... More

Must say we thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay, as did our friends who had recommended it. Arrived just before opening time so we ambled the length of the 'high street' to work up a thirst. and then after booking in we tried the ales from the Inns 'micro brewery' and then enjoyed the best Sunday roast dinner ever, and... We recently the visited the pub as guests of friends who live in the area. We did not complain at the time as would have embarrassed our hosts. Overall the food is overpriced. We had two rib eye steaks at 22 pounds each. The steaks were full of gristle and we requested one of them to be cooked as well... More

Very pleasantly surprised, food was great but rooms were authentic, very spacious, warm and nothing overlooked. Would definately recommend. Lovely soft towels, awesome extra large bed totally 4 star and only £60 B&B. food all locally sourced. Pub has won 3 awards this year and totally deserve it.

This is one of the best Pubs we have ever stayed in. The room was large as was the bathroom, with every possible amenity provided. The bed was very comfortable. Everything spotless. The food both at night and at breakfast was first rate. The staff very friendly and helpful. Be warned though the pub is very popular.

My wife and I spent the night at this Inn on our walk up the Thames Path. The room was vast, well appointed (King size double bed, large TV, trouser press), clean and comfortable, the food was good and the beer (brewed on the premises) was even better. The staff were delightful and could not have been more helpful to... More
