I stayed in the Red Lion overnight on the last leg of my walk to the source of the Thames, and am glad to chosen this establishment. The staff were polite and attentive, my room was very spacious, clean, very well appointed (including free wifi), and looked to have been recently refurbished. My bed was very comfortable and allowed for... More

Whilst walking the Thames Path last week we were most impressed by our first nights stop at this lovely inn. Our room was modern and contained all you need for a comfortable nights stay. The inn itself is vibrant and there is a wide variety of ales, including their own brews. The menu was less extensive than detailed in their... More

Stopped just for a night en route home. Buzzing inn with good food and selection of beers etc. Newly refurbished room with all mod cons. Had our dog with us and as this was a new room wasn't allowed in but they do have other pet friendly rooms but they were full. Car parking could be an issue but we... More

Great pub, friendly welcome, immaculately clear rooms, sadly we didn't have a full chance to enjoy the very wide selection of beers, the 'Tea'was outstanding, Cooked breakfast was superb. Shame it is quite so expensive, but we should have stayed in the bar longer- Thanks

These people have invested in their pub and should be congratulated. We come to the UK for the long distance inn to inn walking, best in world, and good accommodation plus nice food at the end of a days walking in beautiful countryside just improves the overall experience. Many walkers rate the walking and care little about the accom...'just give me... Like many others, we stayed at the Red Lion overnight whilst walking the Thames Path. It's a handy stopover between the source at Kemble and Lechlade. It couldn't have been better: a welcome drink from the wonderful range of real ales; comfortable, clean and well-appointed rooms, and excellent food in the bar - on a night (Monday) when the restaurant... For what I pay to stay here this place is excellent. The work they have put in on the rooms has delivered exceptionally comfortable facilities without sacrificing the character of the building. Little touches such as homebaked cookies and nice toiletries complement the facilities perfectly. Breakfast is a pleasure and service is excellent. The only slight gripes are that at... More

There is only one veggie option for starter (not including the ham terrine which was marked with a V ermmm..) and only one main course veggie option too which was a bean burger with triple cooked chips. Was an okay meal but not oustanding, decor is very rustic but I didn't like the hundreds of stuffed birds on the walls.... More

Great pub. Great town. The room was very clean, large with a comfy bed. Great price for the quality of the room. The staff were really nice. The food in the bar was super good (burger and chips). Also breakfast was great.

The pub was very nice when you walked in. Busy as described on Trip Advisor with family locals and dogs. The bar staff were very busy but very friendly so we were expecting to have a nice evening. We waited a little while whilst our table was being set up in the restaurant. Not a huge menu but we had... More
