I was treated to a weekend away by my girlfriend for my birthday and we decided on the Red Lion Inn in Cricklade...what a choice! The pub itself is the perfect example of a country inn, no TVs or machines in the bar and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere from the locals and amazing staff. The rooms are very well appointed,... Luvverly. Just that. We were on a three nights stay at a nearby hotel, but found ourselves in the Red Lion on all three days/evenings. Great atmosphere, great staff, great food. Even greater gin menu! Log fire, and everything... We'll be back, and next time, we'll stay with you.

Great food, lovely service, delicious beer & welcoming fire. A Sunday lunch to remember. Would go back with pleasure. A mile off the busy A419 but a lovely ancient Saxon town with walking by the Thames. Water meadows to stroll in and enjoy. Staff eager to please.

Restaurant on ground floor, great food and good prices, a spacious and calm place to eat, relax and talk . If you wanted a pub bar atmosphere that is available ... In the bar. Staff helpful, I can't fault it as a pub or restaurant

Fantastic room, very comfortable, very well fitted ( Decent TV, Kettle, Tea, Coffee etc, large electric room heater) located out the back of the Pub in converted barns, opposite the Pub microbrewery. As with a lot of these old conversions, sound insulation not great, TV and people next room, pretty loud, was able to hear snoring when we came back... More

The staff, food, and accommodation at the Red Lion pub was excellent. This pub is full of character and the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and informative. We were only booked in for one night and our room was spacious, very clean and the beds were very comfortable with lovely soft pillows. They had gone the extra mile in the... More

Just got back from this pub/restaurant. Had a table for 8 for a birthday. Fantastic food, VERY generous portions! Not an extensive menu but everything you would expect - home made / home brewed beer batter fish and 3 X cooked chips, steak, ham egg and chips. Not a massive selection on puds but again all home made - rice... More

I really enjoyed my one night stay here as I walked the Thames path. Super and quiet spacious room, with comfy bed, tea and coffee facilities and great bathroom. Fabulous locally sourced food for dinner and breakfast, with a great choice for vegetarian options too. V friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended.

Stayed here whilst walking the Thames Path, room was great and having a bath was very welcoming. Ate in the restaurant that evening, the food and atmosphere in the pub was excellent. Breakfast the next morning was superb. Staff were very welcoming and pleasant throughout. Thoroughly recommended.
