Old-fashioned interior, with many beers to choose from (including ones they brew themselves), and a spacious garden. Service very friendly, food very good. An excellent bedroom in Cotswold style: big comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom. Everything done to the highest standards.

My wife and I stayed at the Red Lion for 3 nights as we were visiting family in Cricklade. Our family recommended this inn/pub for us and we were happy they did. The inn is located behind the affiliated pub off of High Street along side a long outdoor garden and eating area. The rooms were clean and have been... More

One night stop while walking the Thames Way. Friendly welcome and service throughout was first class. The room was more spacious than most pub-hotels we've encountered. Well decorated and furnished in contemporary style- looked like it had been done pretty recently. Spotless. The bar had choice of around ten beers, with tiny sampler glasses set out in front of each... More

We made a mistake by not staying here, but we did eat. It was a Sunday night so the menu was reduced but there were a choice of ( from memory) 4 starters and 5 mains with 5 desserts incl a cheese board of mainly local cheeses. We rather trepidatiously went for liver and bacon. This is a dish I... More

We really liked this small, friendly hotel with its own restaurant and micro-brewery. The food was lovely and the beer was good - ask for the house draught beer with your meal! We also appreciated the wide selection of DVDs to rent, and the fact that they rescued our phone charger when we left it behind and made sure it... More

First of all the best things the rooms were superbly appointed with excellent fittings and linen and a sizeable flat screen TV. Now the issues. Whenever a pub becomes a hotel/pub then the reception is usually the bar. And so we had to wait 10 minutes whilst the completely hapless and inexperienced bar maid attempted to meet the requirements of... More

We went our ladies club about 18 of us. No water on the table. We weren't offered drinks before the meal was served which was practically before we'd all sat down. Several of us agreed the food was terrible. I complained to the waitress that my steak burger was burnt and she couldn't have cared less. NOT TO BE RECOMMENDED.... More

... so I guess we are satisfied with it :) which we are. We have stayed in four of the 5 en suite rooms and all are pretty similar except the ground floor ones which are stone floors with rugs whilst upstairs they have carpets. Downstairs have bigger bathrooms. The rooms have always been very clean and we have had... More

We stayed here while we were walking the Thames Path. The criteria for the booking was that the path went past the front door of this pub, so no added miles to our journey! It was such a bonus to find that I had booked a flourishing, bustling gem of a place. The staff were friendly and efficient. Our room... More

We stayed over New Years travelling with our indoor cat, and had a super stay. NY eve, the Cricklade was offering a closed music and dining event in the pub.. which we joined at the last minute thanks to the kindness of the owner. The food was beyond amazing, lots of local friendly people and the whole evening was just... More
