While it's a bit of a walk from the train station (we took the Sprinter from Amsterdam), D'Vijf Broers hotel was an excellent location and very comfortable. Our room had a large double bed, and a window overlooking the outdoor patio and bridge to Zaanse Schans. We enjoyed Gulpener beers on the patio in the evening, watching ducks and sea... More

Indifferent and disinterested management.uncomfortable and basic bedrooms, curtains so thin that streetlights illuminated the night.Miniscule soap bar the only luxury available. Ever been served whisky with hot water before? Eat out.

We stayed here for a night and everything was beyond expectation. The location is so perfect. We could even see the windmills from our window. The atmosphere of this hotel is so romantic and ideal for couples. We really enjoyed our stay here!

We stayed there for one night with relatives. The staff was excellent and went out of their way to help us out when we arrived late (opened the bar, found us some food). The breakfast was embarrassingly large and excellent, staff once more very professional. Great view outside to the "Zaanse Schans. The rooms are OK, clean, good sized, TV... More

Check in was very quick. Room was clean with OK range of toiletries. Evening meal was good. Breakfast had a very good range of meats, cheese, breads. Views over the canal were breathtaking. The heating had been turned off in the room, so I would recomend during the winter that you check in, turn on the heating and eat.

This part of Amsterdam is so pretty. It has windmills, beautiful buildings and this lovely hotel. I had a room 'water facing' and tastefully decorated. The staff were helpful and friendly, even offering to deliver my food to my room as they did not really do room service, but did not hesitate to offer when I mentioned I had to... More

Denise surprised me with a overnight trip to the country where 16 windmills, beautiful coutnryside, wooden shoe making shop, restaurants and more cover the entire city. Its best to get there the night before and get up early to beat the crowds as they show up on time and keep coming throughout the day until later in the evening. The... More

We spent two nights here and found the staff very friendly and efficient. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The dinner menu is a bit limited but satisfactory. The location is perfect with plenty to see and do within walking distance. Amsterdam is also just a short train trip away. Ask for a river facing room - the view of... More

I have spent in this hotel 4 days. Hotel is beautifully situated at the lake, opposite the old town with windmills view. Very good base if you want to visit the old town in Koog, as it is only 5 min. walk. To the railway station there is only 10 min. walk. The hotel itself is not sophisticated, rather modestly... We just happened upon this restaurant and it was amazing. The service was great and the food was amazing. We didn't sleep there, only ate, but totally worth it and we will be going back when family visits.
