The Pilot Boat Inn is a very good place to stay. We stayed last weekend visiting the Isle, relaxing from a chaotic week, taking in the sights away from the mainland. I agree that the location is not very scenic but you are in a useful position to explore the Isle. The restaurant and bar seem popular with the locals... More

Spent two mid-week nights here in February. The welcome was warm, the bedroom was smart and comfortable and the breakfast good. Unlike the bedroom, the bar/dining area and outside of the inn are fairly shabby. The location is across the road from the river estuary, Bembridge Harbour and the IoW Coast Path but none of these are particularly interesting or... More

My wife and I visited The Pilot Boat Inn with a voucher deal giving us off season ( middle of Jan) BB and evening meal for around £80. We arrived in the car park and left our bags in the car because our first impressions left is genuinely wondering if we might be back in the car and driving home... More

Thank you for your kind words, so glad you enjoyed your stay. There is very little we can do to tone down the boat look, indeed it is why many people call us The Pub that Looks like a boat!! after all it has portholes and is shaped like a boat and is by the sea! Indeed the boat part... More

Needing to visit the Isle of Wight with a view of moving to the island in 2015 we decided to stay at this hotel having read good reviews on tripadivsor. Finding the hotel was easy and we parked right next to the entrance. On entering we experienced a very warm and comfortable feeling, the bar was welcoming with a blazing... More

The location and facilities are good. The staff were initially pleasant and helpful, however it became very evident that they wished to shut the facility by 20.30. They started to clear the dining area and set up for breakfast round people who were still eating. They talked and laughed loudly round customers created an unpleasant atmosphere which cleared the restaurant... More

Thank you for your kind words about the place, rooms, etc and glad you think I'm a Gent (if only you knew the truth!). Apologies about feeling rushed and crowded out, I've never heard this happening before, I will speak to all the staff and ensure it doesn't happen again. We are open until 11 every night and staff are... More

Visited at lunch time after a long beautiful coastal walk. We were greeted warmly, including our little dog. The interior is as lovely as the exterior of this public house - very light and roomy with a sparkling appearance. We ordered the local Bembridge crab sandwiches. These were served to us very promptly with an appetising salad garnish. The crab... More

Stayed here whilst away with work. The food was great, the pub downstairs was very busy and had a great atmosphere, bed super comfortable and the shower was amazing. I would recommend it for a weekend away.. if you are staying mid week for work just keep in mind there is a pub downstairs so you can hear that until... More

Food is fresh and you get generous portion sizes. Staff is perfect, they are very welcoming as you step in, very efficient and quick. There were no seats available outside, but inside is cosy and decently sized.

A party of 8 including two youngens and a teenager. Maria made us very welcomed and her service through out very good. The food is excellent. Personally I had the fish and chips. Being Sunday there were no whole fish but when I enquired George the landlord said it was due to freshness. He can't get fish on a Sunday.... More

We received a warm welcome and friendly, excellent service throughout our (one night) stay. The room was nice and fairly clean (though there was a pube in the shower). The evening meal was ok but not fantastic. The full English breakfast was top drawer. All in all, a decent place to stay... You'd need a very good reason to stay... More
