Stayed august 2014 as a married couple from uk as independent travelers. Hotel set in best and widest part of thé beach in our opinion, the hawkers are restricted 100 metres away so no boracay or samui style hustle in front of thé resort. Despite reading various mixed reviews of the sea, we found it is very clear up to... More

Stayed here for 4 days, nice location, far from the busy side of the beach. The pool area and jacuzzi was very nice, only prob there was the unkept storage area fro oxygen tasks for scuba diving as it was an eyesore when youre staying near the pool bar. Food was great and not overpriced.

Prior to checking in, the reviews were checked and noted the mosquito complaints. (Our stay was provided as a gift from precious friends on Bohol) . Mosquitoes never bother be, however they were very bothersome to my wife. A request to a passing employee resulted in a mosquito coil and that did take care of the problem. This was our... More

Checked in here on my second day on Alona beach (June) and had no previous reservations or contact with the resort. First thing I noticed was its location - right on the beach, secondly the place is beautifully kept, and it shows. Straight off the staff were very polite and helpful, and I got a very reasonable suite right on... More

The best part about Alona Tropical is the location.Set at the very end of the beach you are away from the noisier parts - particularly at night when they normally have loud music in the middle section. The resort is kept extremely clean - staff are very attentive always greeting guests in a warm manner. Access is just ideal -... More

The resort is located on the very end of the beach, the good end! This is the best spot on Alona beach and no vendors come here. There are beach chairs under the palm trees, the bar will deliver you drinks, massage under the palm trees, very nice grounds with a decent pool and outdoor shower. Wifi (slow) at the... More

Went to Panglao, Bohol, Philippines for the first time and have opted to stay at Alona Tropical Beach from a friend's recommendation. They did not disappoint. We stayed for 4 nights with hopes to tour the city. We ended taking a 1 day tour & ended up staying on the resort because it was so relaxing. The staff were so... More

Made arrangements through the Philippine-based travel agency ByaheXperts (find them on Facebook). The resort and tour of Bohol were spectacular. You can get a 60 min seaside massage at the resort for approx $12 USD. Restaurant food is good and grounds are kept immaculate. Didn't have any trouble with hot water as past reviewers mentioned. The pool is under renovation,... More

We enjoyed it very much. Its a quiet place. Feels safe. Only the swimmingpool is under construction at that moment. We eat a few times in the restaurant, where they have really good food. Sometimes there is live music. Quiet gitarplayer, very good. The staff is very helpfull.

We spent in Alona Tropical Beach Resort 3 nights and were dissapointed. It wasn't horrible, but for sure it was the weakest accomodation we had during our visit in Philippines. Rooms are nice, resort has access to the beach, but - it's in renovation, so at 8 AM you'll be wake up by construction work at the swimming pool (yes... More
