We were drawn to this hotel as it is dog friendly, also in the bar, where they serve great food. It has a worn but very cosy feel to it and of course a fantastic view. There are a few little things that are noticeable like some mould on the bathroom ceiling but they are easy to overlook as it... More

Visited the hotel for a short stay for our wedding anniversary where we received a warm welcome from the staff as always. Both dinner and breakfast were to their usual high standards. What a difference it makes to have locally sourced produce freshly cooked to perfection. The room was spotless and in keeping with a traditional period house which creates... More

We loved this hotel. It may need a bit of updating but we thought it just added to the whole experience. It is a beautiful old house with the most amazing views. Our room was clean and spacious. The shower stopped working but the manager did check it out for us, sadly it needed a plumber but they were kind... More

While the property is a little down at the heels, this only adds to the charm of this wonderful hotel on the shores of Loch Shiel. If you are looking for a modern hotel with all the trimmings (we were not) this is not the place for you. My only criticism is that considering the money, they could have provided... More

We went to visit the glenfinnan monument and having previously stopped In the village for something to eat and going to the train museums dinning car, we thought we'd try the hotel. the reception was warm and welcoming. The lady behind the bar was very nice and chatty and the food we received was top class! it was reasonably priced... More

The Glenfinnan sits on the banks of Loch Shiel with views across to Ben Nevis. It is a lovely, traditional old house with wood-fires burning as you enter. We had the Four-poster suite which was enormous and had a separate bedroom for our two children. It had a huge bathroom with jacuzzi bath and views across the loch. The bed... More

I left this afternoon after being there for 3 nights for my wedding. It was an amazing experience. I visited the hotel last year whilst looking for wedding venues. Having visted a few we booked this on the spot. It is an old coutry house on the banks of a fantastic loch. It's not a state of the art hotel... More

3rd time we have been but this time it's been an 8 year gap, but it was just as welcoming, with 5 star service, 5 star food in a 5 star building and location, but with a very relaxed feel which is hard to find I think.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay with our 11 year old daughter, who also loved it despite there being no TV or WiFi !! Everything was perfect, from the room to the food and location. A lovely, relaxing atmosphere. We would definitely go back.

My partner and I recently stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. We were allocated room 7 and were advised that the hotel was full so there were no rooms available facing the loch. The room was the smallest I have ever stayed in and it was so small that we were unable to put our suitcase on the floor!... More
