We stayed in Palazzo Gambuzza in February, it was a nice location to stay during our 'Baroque weekend': a trip we organized to see Sicilian baroque cities Modica and Noto, so Ispica was an additional stop in between. Ispica itself has several cathedrals to visit, but nothing really special. Palazzo Gambuzza is a nice place, indeed. Carefully restuctured, this old... More

This is an amazing place, a hotel based in a renovated palazzo, tucked away behind one of Ispica's main churches, Basilica di S. Maria Maggiore, with its beautiful semi-circular courtyard surrounded by arched alcoves, known as the Loggiato. Our suite of rooms was named after this and was spectacular. Huge, amazingly decorated (including a UNESCO-protected painting on the bathroom ceiling!)... More

We stayed in the Palazzo proper - in the Angeli suite. We thought that the place was delightful, very well and courteously run (Rosanna and the staff were all extremely pleasant and helpful) and very nicely located, within easy walking distance of the main square and most restaurants. The breakfast was excellent. We would not hesitate to return if in... More

This hotel is elegant and peaceful. Located adjacent to the Basilica and its plaza this truly ancient hotel has been wonderfully restored by two local families. The courtyards are lovely with lemon and lime trees. The breakfast room has an ancient cistern below it to tour. We could walk to the center for gelato and the superb Il Mercato restauarant.... We were really looking forward to our stay at the Palazzo in May, having seen the stunning reviews. The four days stay was in the middle of our trip and we had paid extra for the apartment with a washing machine. Another benefit was to be able to self-cater and cook some of the wonderful fresh foods that Sicily provides.... More

Ispica is not a wonderful place, just a typical small sleepy Sicilian city. But Palazzo Gambuzza is a very nice island in the middle of the city, very close to the beautiful church and very peaceful. The comtessa is a energetic but very pleasant landlady and she will welcome you in the morning with a breakfast second to none. Very... More

The courtesy at the reception has been passed only by the care on details of the location, the building has been greatly restored and the modern device has been perfectly integrated with the rest of accessories (electronic key, cameras and wifi). The junior suite was nicely furnished, also present a table and two chairs for children, warm and clean. The... More

Arrived at Palazzo Gambuzza last Thursday 12th December. It's a 15 minute drive from Pozzallo. The staff were superb, friendly and spoke perfect English. We were slightly concerned with leaving the car outside on the street, but the Palazzo is has CCTV and the street is very well lit and in a good area. Our room was a larger than... More

Ispica is a lovely place close to several attractions in south-east Sicily and the seaside with beautiful beaches. In the center, next to Basilica, piazza and restaurants, Palazzo Gambuzza offers so called suites, we would say luxury apartments with everything you wish even for a longer stay. We have seen most of the suites and couldn't tell which was our... More

When looking for a hotel in the south-eastern part of Sicily not too far from the seaside we came across the Palazzo Gambuzza. And it was the perfect decision to go there. We stayed there for six days and were very unhappy to leave. At first sight you would not recognize the gate as an entrance to such a gem,... More
