We spend more than 2 weeks here and it was hard to leave! We stayed in an adobe house with private kitchen which was very convenient. We especially liked that Rumi Wilco is close enough to the town (you can easliy walk to town) but you have still the feeling of sleeping in nature (a lot of animals around the... More

This place offers $4 per night per person for camping. Amazing view, next to the river, few minutes away from hiking trails. The camping area has good kitchen and hot shower. The owner was very nice. It's quite at night and it's a great place if you want to stay away from the city center (the city can get very... More

This is a very nice place. The lady who owns it is very kind and welcoming. The rooms are tastefully decorated and everything you need has been provided. The kitchen is well equipped. The hikes are nice as well. The only problem was with all the hippies from the camping area coming up and staying ALL DAY in the common... More

A great place to just hang out. We stayed in one of the adobe houses #5 which had a comfortable bed, patio with hammock and use of a shared, well equipped kitchen. Shared bathrooms are fairly basic but OK with warmish water. For just $8 each it was amazing value. Note that this is very simple accommodation but truly relaxing... More

Either camping or staying in the river cabins, you will enjoy your time here. The campground offers basic services like outdoor shower and a kitchen in the forest hut.Very relaxed setting for camping and the sound of the river is always present. Also,a nice selection of hiking trails are near the campground. If you don't have your own tent you may... More

This place is very special. Located within a nature reserve, it has accommodations for campers in a beautiful pastor, but also for couples in charming cabins (where we stayed). The owners have thought of everything, including hand-picked coffee that awaits in the fridge, homemade granola etc. The cabins are equipped with a full kitchen, hammocks, hot water. Amazing and lovely.

After checking out several hostels in the town of Vilcabamba we finally arrived here, a bit our of the centre in the middle of the nice grean private natural reserve that Alicia&Orlando created. If you're not into the more expensive range of nicer hostels (owned by European expats) with private bathroom, swimming pool etc. but are looking for more basic... More

Rumi Wilco was such a great place that I didn't want to leave when our 3 days were up! If you like the outdoors, and don't mind roughing it a bit, then this Ecolodge is perfect for you. The hiking trails on the property were absolutely stunning, and we saw some of the best views we've seen in Ecuador yet.... More

We found Vilcabamba and Rumi Wilco to be a relaxing refuge along the route of travel. The campsite was a 15 minute walk from town in the woods and along the river - bring a headlamp at night. The camping kitchen was cute and well stocked. The bathrooms were rugged. There was plumbing, but no door. The toilet and shower... More
