If you go to Vilcabamba, I'd really recommend to have a little walk in the Rumi Wilco Nature Reserve; you won't be disappointed! It is really well-maintained, good indicated and there are lots of explanatins about the flora!!! If you go up a little bit, you will have an amazing view on the city and on the surroundings! It's worth... More

This Ecolodge was amazing, from our arrival until our departure. The owners stayed late for us and escorted us to our cabin, right along the river. We had hot water, all kitchen utensils necessary, and the sound of birds for an alarm in the morning. We hiked Ruta Trail 3, up towards the top of the mountain, at sunset: highly... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and wish we could stay for a couple weeks! Very cool authentic Ecuadorian houses fully stocked so you can cook your own meals. They also grow, harvest, dry and roast their own coffee. Very smooth and flavorful. A short 1 mile hike from town, mostly along a river. Great hiking trails with amazing views.... More

Had a great 11 night stay at Rumi Wilco Ecolodges. 19 dollars a night for two with 10 percent discount for staying longer than a week. We stayed in the cottage with a kitchen/dining area and bedroom. The bed was really comfortable quite solid and well made. The cottage is immaculately clean with fridge, gas cooker, juicer, and sink. There... More

We spend more than 2 weeks here and it was hard to leave! We stayed in an adobe house with private kitchen which was very convenient. We especially liked that Rumi Wilco is close enough to the town (you can easliy walk to town) but you have still the feeling of sleeping in nature (a lot of animals around the... More

This place offers $4 per night per person for camping. Amazing view, next to the river, few minutes away from hiking trails. The camping area has good kitchen and hot shower. The owner was very nice. It's quite at night and it's a great place if you want to stay away from the city center (the city can get very... More

This is a very nice place. The lady who owns it is very kind and welcoming. The rooms are tastefully decorated and everything you need has been provided. The kitchen is well equipped. The hikes are nice as well. The only problem was with all the hippies from the camping area coming up and staying ALL DAY in the common... More

A great place to just hang out. We stayed in one of the adobe houses #5 which had a comfortable bed, patio with hammock and use of a shared, well equipped kitchen. Shared bathrooms are fairly basic but OK with warmish water. For just $8 each it was amazing value. Note that this is very simple accommodation but truly relaxing... More

Either camping or staying in the river cabins, you will enjoy your time here. The campground offers basic services like outdoor shower and a kitchen in the forest hut.Very relaxed setting for camping and the sound of the river is always present. Also,a nice selection of hiking trails are near the campground. If you don't have your own tent you may... More
