Rustic Mexican hotel in tiny town of Cerocahui. Main areas such as as check in and restaurant are lovely, however when we reached our room, the toilet had not been cleaned and there was evidence that someone had recently pooed! We asked for a change of rooms and were immediately given the one next door. Superficially it looked ok, small... More

The hotel used to be a hacienda and the more Mexican something is the better. The food, rooms and so on we're good but the real gem here is "un tour natural" given by Juan who takes you to a beautiful waterfall hike and a walk through town. This is a can't miss and any trip to the area would... More

Rooms were great...comfortable, and each had a wood stove for heat. The service and food was excellent. Comfortable bar lounge area. There isn't much in the town but ..visit the Tarahumara girls residential school, and take basic supplies.

We stayed at the Hotel Mision during our trip to thru the Copper Canyon. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a special place. We were greeted with fresh Margaritas. The check in was very quick and easy. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and included a wood burning stove complete with plenty of firewood. Our... More

Nestled into this small village, this hotel blends right into the landscape. Thankfully! Located right across from the old mission church dating back to the mid 1700's, you are greater with warmth & a welcome that makes you feel like you're coming home. We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations , meals, & service! And, the Mission wine... More

When I got off the train and got on the bus at Bahiachivo, the paved road gave way to a dirt track and I was wondering if I did the right thing going there. As it turned out, I did do the right thing. The Misioin Hotel was extremely pretty, cosy and friendly. The staff was super friendly and I... More

This is one of the Balderrama hotels. It is worthy of its appurtenance. Balderrama hotels are rated 4 stars and are worth 5. This hotel is rustic luxury. The rooms are unbelievable, comfortable and with furniture that is astounding. Many of the pièces of furniture, in this hotel, are works of art. A real pleasure for the eyes. The town... More

We stopped over from our El Chepe train trip. The atmosphere is welcoming, rustic, with a luxury feel. The food -- cooked family style by their Chef -- was outstanding, as was their Mision vineyard wines. Our room was spacious and perfect for our family; it featured FOUR double beds. The staff is attentive and friendly. Great experience overall!

We have been traveling to Cerocahui since 2000 and have stayed at the Mision Hotel dozens of times because of its location next to the boarding school for Tarahumara girls, one of our favorite charities. The surroundings are lovely, the staff welcoming, and the rooms range from cozy in the old section to deluxe in the newer rooms in the... More
