We stayed at the Hotel Mision during our trip to thru the Copper Canyon. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a special place. We were greeted with fresh Margaritas. The check in was very quick and easy. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and included a wood burning stove complete with plenty of firewood. Our... More

Nestled into this small village, this hotel blends right into the landscape. Thankfully! Located right across from the old mission church dating back to the mid 1700's, you are greater with warmth & a welcome that makes you feel like you're coming home. We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations , meals, & service! And, the Mission wine... More

When I got off the train and got on the bus at Bahiachivo, the paved road gave way to a dirt track and I was wondering if I did the right thing going there. As it turned out, I did do the right thing. The Misioin Hotel was extremely pretty, cosy and friendly. The staff was super friendly and I... More

This is one of the Balderrama hotels. It is worthy of its appurtenance. Balderrama hotels are rated 4 stars and are worth 5. This hotel is rustic luxury. The rooms are unbelievable, comfortable and with furniture that is astounding. Many of the pièces of furniture, in this hotel, are works of art. A real pleasure for the eyes. The town... More

We stopped over from our El Chepe train trip. The atmosphere is welcoming, rustic, with a luxury feel. The food -- cooked family style by their Chef -- was outstanding, as was their Mision vineyard wines. Our room was spacious and perfect for our family; it featured FOUR double beds. The staff is attentive and friendly. Great experience overall!

We have been traveling to Cerocahui since 2000 and have stayed at the Mision Hotel dozens of times because of its location next to the boarding school for Tarahumara girls, one of our favorite charities. The surroundings are lovely, the staff welcoming, and the rooms range from cozy in the old section to deluxe in the newer rooms in the... More

This was our third stop on El Chepe. We were met at the train station and driven 35 minutes to the hotel and town. Very picturesque setting, lovely hotel. The lobby/dining room was lovely though the pre-set meals were uneven and, because our Spanish was poor, we were unaware of the range of choices for breakfast--the staff assumed we wanted... More

We spent one night here as one of our scheduled stops on El Chepe. This a charming little rural Mexican hotel in a sleepy little village about 40 mins drive from the railway. It is very remote and quiet so don't go if you are looking for a buzzing party atmosphere. The hotel itself is in the middle of a... More

Beautiful place, meals were included, went on a horse ride to a waterfall. Walked the little village, watched kids playing volley ball with a soccer option in the plaza. Felt perfectly safe. It was what a little Mexican village really is. Bought fruit at the bodega watched kids on bikes, well worth the effort, it was about a half an... More
