This is review of Paraiso del Oso after 12 times of staying there. The food and drink is good and there is a vairety.Produce is washed in a purified solution,I have never gotten ill from food or the culligan type water cooler. There is a spirt of adventure here with hiking trails lead by people familiar with the area. Time well spent... more

We loved the del Oso. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfy and open onto a courtyard with a wonderful view of the mountains. The food was plentiful and delicious. There are wonderful hiking trails all around, and the hotel provides a great base from which to explore Cerocahui and take a day trip... more

We stopped there during the dry season (winter) and one should realized it is awfully dusty. The hotel is right next to the bumpy road and you hear heavy trucks passing very early in the morning. The temperature was pretty cold and we had some wood for the stove, which is fine for the evening but pretty unpleasant in the morning... more

This is a owner operated, and built operation. The effort is there but the operation is below average. The owner does have access to a site overlooking the canyons, that is spectacular!! It's worth putting up with "no choice menu" , rough roads, and vehicles that don't work , to see the spectacular vistas. more

I stayed here for 2 nights during a tour of the Copper Canyon and had a wonderful time. The drive in from the train was exciting and gave a good introduction to the type of road travel we were in for the next day! The rooms are located around a central courtyard with lots of comfortable chairs for just lounging... more

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 days here. The location is very pleasant, in a small valley surrounded by rock formations. The rooms are arranged around a large landscaped courtyard. My room was clean and comfortable. The lobby, bar and dining room are decorated with western gear and local artifacts. The meals are prepared with attention to appearance as well as... more

We drove down into Mexico by route of Texas and down through Chihuahua. From there we followed a route provided by the hotel owner, Diego. Through email communications with me, he recommended several side trips for us to stop at along the way. He also provided us with a very detailed road log for the area. The hotel is set... more

We stayed here for 3 days (our longest single stay) as a part of our honeymoon. We were not disappointed. The location is amazing, and rooms are clean and accommodating. Doug did a great job being a guide and he and his wife Anna did a fine job of taking care of us. The food was great, and we especially... more

Spent two nights there in June as part or a guided tour. Overall it was a great place to stay! The owner, Doug, is a real character and I had fun drinking Margaritas with him. He engages with guests and likes to have fun with them. His statements and sense of humor was great for my family. I understand some... more

We stayed at Paraiso del Oso for 2 nights and very much liked the mexican style rooms with the fireplace, garden & general surroundings. Also we enjoyed the common meals & food was really good. Missed some general information on trips etc (only on request). Only downside: very smugly, macho owner (plus animal hostile!) Otherwise, recommendable place to stay. more

Sorry this guest felt that I was so bad. We do have dogs around the hotel to watch over the property at night and to keep the coyotes away (seriously, we are in a wilderness-like area). However, we do not permit these dogs to climb up on and paw on guests. When our dog did that I pushed it away,...
