We are not frequent visitors to a "pub" of any variety ... anywhere. However, when in Gardenstown for five nights just last week, we frequented "The Garden Arms" most nights for a drink and one night for a delicious meal. Hosts Dave and Lynn were really friendly and offered great hospitality. An unexpected plus to our stay in a most... More

There is a warm welcome in the bar, where there is a small selection of beers, and a good selection of whiskeys. There is a small restaurant with only 4 or 5 tables and a small menu. The food we had was well prepared and presented and was adjusted to take consideration of intolerances of one of the party, and tasted... More

Ate at The Garden Arms last Saturday night. What can I say? THE BEST food of any pub ANYWHERE! Great home made bread accompanied my salmon mousse (also home made) starter. Yum. Followed by Eastern chicken (with herbs and olives - very different, very delicious). A large serving of potato wedges and scrumptious veggies meant that I had to admit... More

For our 10th Wedding Anniversary we decided to have a few days at the lovely Seaspray Cottage in New Ground, Gardenstown. A great choice. On our first evening we visited the Garden Arms for a few drinks. We enjoyed the cosy relaxed atmosphere so booked a table for the Friday evening. Oh my goodness - what a meal. Both Mr... More

We popped in on Friday night to see if they had a table for a meal, they didn't but said they had a table on Monday and they started serving at 7pm. We as a family had chicken and steak which was cooked to our liking, we also enjoyed the veg which was Kale and green beans with bacon lardons... More

If I am totally honest I have no idea how this pub has got such high ratings, cause its defiantly not worth the praise. The two owners of the pub are rude, unwelcoming and could both do with taking part in a customer service course so they know how to treat customers correctly. The pubs dull and could do with... We were lucky to get a reservation for dinner here as the restaurant had been fully-booked, but they had a cancellation. The staff are really friendly and there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bar area is very cosy and is obviously frequented by locals who all seemed to be enjoying themselves. The food was top quality and there... More

We were in Gardenstown for a week, and apart from Tuesday spent every night in the pub. The atmosphere is superb, everyone is so welcoming. Dave and Lynne and brill and nothing is ever too much for them! We were lucky enough to eat there one night, I had the haddock and it was cooked to perfection. 'The veg' was... More

Popped into this pub on the first day of our holiday in Gardenstown. It was welcoming so we tried to book a table for a meal. There was none available this day and they had a choice of 2 available times during our weeks stay. We booked the earlier of these. The menu is limited but between the 4 of... More

Visited gardentown for a week with the family and we accidentally wondered into the pub on our first day of arrival as we usually do. needless to say this one visit lead to me and my dad turning up everyday after for the rest of the week. Playing pool and spending money on the bandit and after the first few... More
