I've just returned from a weekend stay at the Garden Arms Hotel in the beautiful village of Gardenstown on the Scottish coast. I had a great weekend away and was really pleased with my choice of where to stay. From the moment I contacted the Garden Arms Hotel to make a reservation, I was delighted with the level of service... more

Lynne and Dave were the perfect hosts and we could not have asked for more. They really took a personal interest in making sure that our trip was perfect from start to finish, by sharing their personal maps of the area with us, giving us clear directions and advising us what areas we should see. It was the best experience... more

What a find! A charming seaside village, a great B&B with a pub, fantastic hosts, and a delicious breakfast. Dave and Lynne gave us a warm welcome and were perfect hosts. They seem to truly enjoy running the Garden Arms and it shows. We stayed in the room above the bar on a Friday night and I guess my hearing... more

This was my first time in Scotland and I didn't really know what to expect from a very small, hidden seaside town. But from the first moment I reached the Garden Arms Hotel and met David and Lynne they put my mind at ease. They were the perfect hosts, kind, considerate, efficient, always there if we needed anything and they... more

Lynne & Dave are wonderful hosts, always ready to help out, chat, or perhaps challenge one to a game of pool. Very home-like atmosphere, very comfortable, LOTS of history. The town itself (and surrounding countryside) is a fantastic place to just poke about and explore. The rooms over the bar can be a bit noisy, although the conversation is more... more

The hotel accommodation was far too basic for the price charged and the lack off facilities in the room such as a kettle or radio made it a really dull place to go back to each evening. The room being above the village's only bar did not help the situation with every converstaion from the bar being clearly audible from... more

This was by far our favorite place we stayed at on our recent trip to Scotland. Lynne and Dave are the perfect hosts! Lynne had a fish supper ready for us, and Dave had Blackbeards ready for us to drink (try one if you get to the Garden Arms!). The pub/rooms/restaurant is full of history. Cute town as well -... more

The Garden Arms Hotel is actually a pub that also offers B&B rooms. It's the only pub in a pretty little village perched on the edge of some rocks. The location was fantasic for us to unwind completely (you can't get a mobile phone signal in the village) and seeing wildlife in its natural habitat was amazing. While we were... more

Recently got back from a holiday in North East Scotland; my favourite place was without question Gardenstown. The village is small and clings to the Cliffside above the sea; the people are friendly and seem genuinely pleased to see you and the weather was good - it actually was quite hot on the Saturday (I thought Scotland was supposed to... more
