Visited Gardenstown on an artist retreat and cannot say enough good things about this charming pub! The owners are so friendly, the atmosphere charming and fun. If you are so lucky to enjoy a meal prepared by Lynn, you are in for a treat!

Lynne and Dave have created something very special in all they do at this family friendly put in the most beautiful setting. This was my second time organising an art retreat with folks travelling from America and Australia to create art in Gardenstown. I thought the first time was exceptional but they really outdid themselves this time. The food was... More

I, along with eight other artists, visited Gardenstown for a week-long workshop with Gillian Lee Smith. Lynn and Dave provided four delicious meals for us, accommodating our various food sensitivities. The wholesome meals were delightful and Dave presented them with panache. Everyone in the pub was friendly and invited us to the various "highlights" of the week including quiz night... More

The Garden Arms Hotel has set the gold standard for food and service. Full stop. I was treated to four dinners there and each one was more amazing than the next in terms of presentation and original combinations of regional food. (The salmon dish was my favorite.) In addition, the owners are the warmest and kindest people you would ever... More

This pub that was built in 1740 is an unexpected delight. Low beamed ceilings with cosy seating around the bar, overseen by the friendly owners who made us feel so welcome. Dinner can only be described as unexpectedly awesome and fantastic value. We were sorry that it was booked out on our second night but hope to go there again... More

I arrived in Gardenstown as a solo female traveller. I was a bit worried that I'd be drinking tea and going to bed every night at 9pm, so rented a car in case I had to make a speedy getaway. That was so NOT my experience in Gardenstown, and this pub had everything to do with it. I was welcomed... More

We had dinner here and really enjoyed it. It is busy, so booking is essential. The Hotel is a very traditional pub. It’s very small and cosy. The staff are wonderful. It did feel as though we were guests at someone’s house. The food was great. I had the steak. My wife had a vegetarian meal which the landlady had... More

When we arrived the dinners had been completely booked out for more than a week. However, we asked for a exception because of our 24th aniversary. We found a warm welcome and an extraordinary wonderful service. And then the dinner itself... It was unbelivable fantastic and we had one of our best celebrations at all. Thanks a lot for this... A great little pub in the quaint harbour village of gardenstown, where my wife & I spent several nights, once having found it tucked away above the harbour Dave & Lynne are excellent "mine hosts" being friendly, curteous & full of good banter to make you feel most welcome in this cosy bar. We had an absolutely fantastic meal one... More
