This pub that was built in 1740 is an unexpected delight. Low beamed ceilings with cosy seating around the bar, overseen by the friendly owners who made us feel so welcome. Dinner can only be described as unexpectedly awesome and fantastic value. We were sorry that it was booked out on our second night but hope to go there again... More

I arrived in Gardenstown as a solo female traveller. I was a bit worried that I'd be drinking tea and going to bed every night at 9pm, so rented a car in case I had to make a speedy getaway. That was so NOT my experience in Gardenstown, and this pub had everything to do with it. I was welcomed... More

We had dinner here and really enjoyed it. It is busy, so booking is essential. The Hotel is a very traditional pub. It’s very small and cosy. The staff are wonderful. It did feel as though we were guests at someone’s house. The food was great. I had the steak. My wife had a vegetarian meal which the landlady had... More

When we arrived the dinners had been completely booked out for more than a week. However, we asked for a exception because of our 24th aniversary. We found a warm welcome and an extraordinary wonderful service. And then the dinner itself... It was unbelivable fantastic and we had one of our best celebrations at all. Thanks a lot for this... A great little pub in the quaint harbour village of gardenstown, where my wife & I spent several nights, once having found it tucked away above the harbour Dave & Lynne are excellent "mine hosts" being friendly, curteous & full of good banter to make you feel most welcome in this cosy bar. We had an absolutely fantastic meal one... More

A group of friends sharing an evening out, glass of wine, something to eat, then an hour drive home-not the best part of the evening! Then we decided to see if our local pub was serving food. We went on Saturday to eat and it was one of the best meals we have eaten! Excellent value and beautifully cooked food.... More

My friends and I take a meal out once a month, and we can travel up to 50 miles for something special. Little did we know we had such a fantastic cook just one street away. The food was out of this world. Dave was brilliant, explaining what there was and what may be coming up in the restaurant. Everything... More

We visited Gardenstown in April and booked a meal with Lynn and Dave at the Garden Arms Hotel. The welcome was very warm, the food was lovely and the service was excellent. As we were staying in self- catering accommodation in the village and were travelling by public transport, they even went to the trouble of shopping for groceries for... More

It was our 35th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely meal beautifully cooked by Lynne. Most memorable for me was the monk fish. Last year when we stayed in Gardenstown they were fully booked all week and now we know why. So thanks Lynne and Dave and we wish you continued success.
