Location wise this is perfect , just around the corner from 90 mile beach and a pick up for the tours to Cape Reinga. Locally there are few facilities but it's just a short drive to the local town if you need shops and restaurants. Also there is an excellent barbeque area with picnic tables in a pretty garden. Stayed for one night and really enjoyed the friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are a little dated but the new owners are in the process of renovating them - having said this, even the current fittings are very clean and the room has everything you need. Great WiFi, only a short walk to the beach, nice and quiet. Sea... More

On a tour around the north my husband came across this place with fantastic reviews. It was my birthday and we wanted somewhere special to stay. While the decor is a little dated the rooms were a good size with a separate bedroom at the back. We used this room for our cases and to hang our clothes. A full... More

The ladies at the front desk are just super friendly! Borrowed their French press, helped us with the stay, super friendly! The rooms are clean, tidy, dishes, kitchen, BBQ, good channels on the TV... Good location. Can't complain!

We stayed there with the family and even though the place's decor was from the 60's and 70's it was clean and tidy. The new owners are slowly upgrading the place so watch this space. We will definitely be keen to stay there again to see the new improvements.

Stayed quite a while ago and found the hosts to be wonderful. Family orientated and joined in with the fun. Highly recommend this pkace. Very relaxing. The golf club was between the motel and beach so the view is still great. The place is always busy with a 2 min walk to the beach. The horse treks available are awesome.... More

Stayed one night in this very clean and comfortable motel. It is a shame the row of houses between it and the golf course hide what is a beautiful view. However a short walk to the golf course produced the most brilliant sunset of our holiday. Hosts were very friendly and the place was certainly good value.

Our 4th stay at this lovely motel. Wonderful hosts who truly go the extra mile! If you are heading north this is the perfect base for a couple of nights. Much quieter (and safer) than the nearby Kaitaia (where you can stock up at the new Pak n Save). Only a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Units sleep... More

We stayed here for a family reunion 8 nights in January 2013. Julie, Tony, Val & team were so welcoming, friendly and accomodating. Thank you guys! The motel had everything we needed, the shower was fantastic, seperate toilet, nice beds, spacious living area and good sized kitchen, full oven, good sized fridge and plenty of storage. We would definately stay... More
