............. we thought this motel wasn't good value for money compared with others we stayed in during our travels round Northland. We paid $160 per night in mid September for a couple in a new unit with extensive beach views. Could not fault the cleanliness although it was very basic in terms of furnishings and little extras. For example, no... More

Travelling from Piahia via Cape Reinga we arrived here at APPX 18:15 hours the sun had dipped below the hillside , the view was still good. overall the room was above average with just an out of order auto dish washer letting the room facilities down ( attention to detail can offset entropy). On site bar and restaurant above average... More

Loved our stay here. Very friendly management, great service. Excellent dinner in the restaurant. We would definetly love to return here again. The view was so stunning, I spent a lot of time taking photos, so I can continue to enjoy it. :) Even the wet & cold weather didn't dampen our trip, we loved the wildness of the wind... More

We arrived late in the evening and our GPS wasn't working so we did have a bit of trouble finding the Motel. However, when we eventually arrived we did receive a friendly greeting and were shown to our one bedroom apartment. We couldn't appreciate the view until the morning and what a view it was... all the way from Ninety... More

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the Ahipara Bay Motel during a recent stay in June 2014. Neil and his wife were friendly, accommodating and have units with incredible ocean views. The Stone Grill style of cooking made for some tasty filet mignons - great cut of meat provided and nice local wine to match. Having an on-site restaurant in... More

There for a birthday treat with not too high expectations. Watzi the host was exceptionally friendly and introduced us to the stone grill menu & made recommendations. We had bad memories of this cooking fad from the early 90s.... We were pleasantly surprised that cooking lean mean meat without fat/oil avoided all the smoke & spatters we remember. Chicken, beef... A disappointing Wedding Anniversary taking in account we drove 5 hours to the get away .Standard Studio was attached to the office so lots of people walking past to office & restaurant. View from room was other units no views of the sea as per picture on treatme . Privacy was lacking we had to keep the blinds close while... More

Neil and Raewyn are terrific hosts at what was a great find in a lovely part of the world. We booked for one night and stayed on for a second. Our spa equipped one bedroom apartment was practical and the bed very comfy. The view is stunning and the main reason for choosing this hotel once we'd stumbled upon it.... More

We state one night on short notice at the Ahipara bay motel, dined in the restaurant which was nice and reasonable price for the meal. The rooms are nice enough and look over the bay with great views, we had breakfast on the deck overlooking the bay. All in all a good place because of the outlook, not 4 star... More
