My husband and I visited Haweswater for our honeymoon, from 24-27th August 2015. We booked using a groupon voucher, which meant we got 3 nights bed and breakfast for the price of 1. At the time of booking, we were asked if we would like to upgrade for £20.00 to a room with a terrace overlooking the lake, which we... More

Just had a great two night stay in this delightful, 30's style and very secluded hotel. It is the process of being revamped so allowances made for that. Room was beautiful with fab whirlpool bath and rain shower. Beds exceptionally comfy with excellent quality linens and duvet. Twin room with garden view but could still see Lake with a rainbow... Once we found it, We were sure we were on the road to no where! then out of of the hillside this little gem appeared, stunning location even better views! The hotel its self was a little sad and dated, although there did appear to be signs of updates being done. Don't let this put you off the place is... More

Eight of us called at the hotel for light lunch before returning to Penrith. We were warmly greeted by pleasant staff. Very much old world feel in the reception and bar area. Choice of food was reasonable for lunchtime. Very good location for stunning views, cycling and walking.

Haweswater is a lovely old grey stone 1930s building set in a stunning location overlooking Haweswater. Some of the public areas of the hotel are in need of refurbishment but we understand that the new owner is in the process of doing this. The entrance, bar, lounge and restaurant feature the original art deco furniture which made us feel like... More

We stayed at the Haweswater last week using an internet voucher. We bought it last March and have noticed that the hotel has featured on similar sites virtually ever since so I'm guessing it must depend on them for its guests. Our stay was a bit of a mixed bag, some things good but others not so good. I'll start... More
