This hotel is full of character in a beautiful setting. We were lucky enough to be given a suite on the corner of the building overlooking the hills and Haweswater which was stunning. The bed was huge, the comfy chairs were at the side of the room which caught the sun, and from which the views were amazing. The bathroom... More

Wonderful Art Deco hotel. We stayed in the room 8 High St Suite. I would not call this a suite... Good: Modern spacious bathroom with jacuzzi bath, lovely towels, rain shower, etc. Own balcony overlooking lake. Lovely big bed. Poor: Bed almost filled the room to the extent it was difficult to get past the end of the bed without... More

Stayed at the Haweswater for 2 nights on a KGB deal. The hotel is quite remote and the surrounding areas are stunning. We were in the Lowther suite with a shared balcony overlooking the reservoir and the mountains. Superb bathroom with jacuzzi bath, waterfall shower and TV. The breakfasts are plentiful with a decent choice of hot food. We stayed... More

We stayed in the Cawsdale Suite for 2 nights. The hotel on the lake was perfect for what we were after: quiet, friendly, warm, spacious, unspoilt, peaceful location. Nothing pretentious about the staff, hotel or the guests during our stay. A perfect break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Time to re-charge our batteries and focus on our... More

This is a lovely hotel although a little remote. The staff are great particularly Will and Crystal nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and our room the Mardale Suite was just as a hotel room should be, giant bed and a fantastic bath room and shower. We would highly recommend this hotel, we will be back

At last, after many years of visiting the Lake District we finally made it to the beautiful Haweswater Valley. Cycling on the quiet road along one side of the reservoir, the Haweswater Hotel's terrace was the perfect place to stop and have a drink and eat ice creams. The staff were friendly, they serve thunder and lightening (a favourite) and... More

Our first impression was of a Hotel which is old fashioned and needs updating. However the bedroom was large clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom and excellent shower. The views were outstanding and the bed one of the largest I have come across. The staff were friendly and the food very good. The setting for the hotel is exceptional... More

Stayed for two nights in a double room without a view. It benefits from an Idyllic location, on the edge of Haweswater. The scenery was magnificent. This is a tranquil hotel, perfect for getting away from it all. It is very much art deco style which seems to go hand in hand with Hawsewater’s history, a place time forgot. The... More

My wife and I stayed here with two other couples as part of our Coast To Coast walk. As much as I’d like to, I can’t write a positive review for this hotel. It was probably the worst place we stayed on the whole Coast to Coast walk. In fairness, it is on the opposite side of the reservoir to... More
