The hotel and surrounding area are absolutely beautiful and perfect for a couples retreat! The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful, michael (One of the staff) in particular kept us laughing while sat in the bar area! Our room was absolutely immaculate and the jacuzzi bath was a very nice touch! The food in the restaurant was delicious... More

My partner and I found this hotel through a deal and as we'd already planned to visit family in the nearby area, we booked this hotel for a long weekend getaway. As I mentioned the location is fantastic for views and short walks in the Lake District but be warned it is quite far from the beaten track but that... More

We chose this little Art Deco gem on the shores of Haweswater based on its location and that didn't disappoint. Stunning! The hotel was fine, our only real gripe was our room was a little cold. The bar could benefit from having more local ales too.

We booked a non-lake facing room for two nights, which we were quite happy with until we saw the lake facing ones. The staff kindly agreed to let us stay in the lake facing room for 1 night then move to our pre booked room the next day. By comparison the non lake facing rooms were extremely shabby, marks on... All rooms at the Haweswater seem to be described as 'luxury', in reality they do not approach that. The rooms are cramped and outdated. Bathrooms are fine but nothing exceptional. Though there is a TV in the room, it has only half a dozen channels and is non-functional (searching for a Sky signal) for 50% of the time. The restaurant... More

Best thing though is the fabulous views! Will come back to sit out on balcony to enjoy the lighter nights. Staff friendly. If you love peace and quiet this is the... More

Much needed weekend break before the madness of Christmas was upon us and this hotel was just the ticket. Fantastic location, far enough from the madding crowds to step out of the madness and relax for a couple of days, with beautiful views and surroundings. Walks around the reservoir to sample the views and fresh air, before relaxing in front... More
