We stayed in the Cawsdale Suite for 2 nights. The hotel on the lake was perfect for what we were after: quiet, friendly, warm, spacious, unspoilt, peaceful location. Nothing pretentious about the staff, hotel or the guests during our stay. A perfect break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Time to re-charge our batteries and focus on our... More

This is a lovely hotel although a little remote. The staff are great particularly Will and Crystal nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent and our room the Mardale Suite was just as a hotel room should be, giant bed and a fantastic bath room and shower. We would highly recommend this hotel, we will be back

At last, after many years of visiting the Lake District we finally made it to the beautiful Haweswater Valley. Cycling on the quiet road along one side of the reservoir, the Haweswater Hotel's terrace was the perfect place to stop and have a drink and eat ice creams. The staff were friendly, they serve thunder and lightening (a favourite) and... More

Our first impression was of a Hotel which is old fashioned and needs updating. However the bedroom was large clean and comfortable with a modern bathroom and excellent shower. The views were outstanding and the bed one of the largest I have come across. The staff were friendly and the food very good. The setting for the hotel is exceptional... More

Stayed for two nights in a double room without a view. It benefits from an Idyllic location, on the edge of Haweswater. The scenery was magnificent. This is a tranquil hotel, perfect for getting away from it all. It is very much art deco style which seems to go hand in hand with Hawsewater’s history, a place time forgot. The... More

My wife and I stayed here with two other couples as part of our Coast To Coast walk. As much as I’d like to, I can’t write a positive review for this hotel. It was probably the worst place we stayed on the whole Coast to Coast walk. In fairness, it is on the opposite side of the reservoir to... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the end of July and were delighted with our stay. The meal on our first night was excellent and very good on the second night also. The views and surroundings were beautiful and we had a lovely lake-facing room. Breakfast on the first morning was a little under-cooked, but we had no complaints with... More

Spent a very enjoyable short break at this hotel and found excellent views over the water and of the hills. Red squirrels and bird life are a fantastic bonus when eating in the restaurant as they were right in front of the windows. The Food was first rate along with the friendly helpful and chatty staff. Looking forward to return... More

On the side of a bonny lake the location is amazing the food was amazing and the bar man was amazing. Only 4 * for the rooms because we didn't stay, just had a meal but the rooms in the restaurant where nice with books and pictures to read and admire. Best hotel in the lake district for us.
