What a great find. More like a micro boutique hotel with great sea views and personal service. We were welcomed with a pot of tea and Welsh cakes in a window overlooking the sea before going into a lovely bedroom. Only 4 rooms now the owners have sold next door, so York House is the real deal. No cards though... More

Stayed again this year for my husbands 70th birthday. We always ask for the compass room as there is plenty of room a king size bed a massive bathroom with shower and bath and best of all a fabulous view. Rona and Phil are always extremely helpful and excellent hosts, nothing is ever too much trouble. They excelled themselves this year as they... More

We stayed in this lovely spot for one night, on our casual tour of Wales. Really enjoyed the bubbly and welcoming hosts, and our room -with a lovely sea view-was comfortable and spotless. Afternoon tea was served when we checked in-so nice to have a lounge to relax in as well. Breakfast was sumptuous. It was a fascinating area to... More

Fantastic place. We're made welcome with beautiful Welsh cakes with tea and coffee. Our room was lovely, massive bed, luxury bathroom, sea view. Felt completely comfortable which was helped by the owners Rona and Phil. Breakfast was delicious. We definitely be returning asap :)

I stayed overnight on a photography trip. Rona and Phil are great hosts and cook a perfect breakfast. I stayed in the single room which looks out over the marsh and hills - smallish but entirely adequate with good en suite facilities and available plugs which are a necessity if you have lots of kit that needs charging. There is... More

I read Tripadvisor before booking, and I 100% agree that this place is a gem. Incredible room with a view of the ocean. The owners are delightful, and the food was wonderful. If you are in Borth or nearby (Aberyswyth), stay here. Highly recommend.

We love York House and Pebbles next door and as soon as we leave we want to return. Rona and Phil are excellent hosts and cater for your every need without being intrusive. We always try to have the Compass room overlooking the beach but have tried others which are equally comfortable. We particually like the lounge and especially the... More

When you book to stay here, you will either be in York House or Pebbles. It hardly matters which, since the houses are side-by-side and you can pass from one to the other on the ground floor. It's worth reading the information folder in the room, explaining how Rona and Phil came to own and operate both houses. Anyway, my... More
