The views of the desert surrounding the hotel were great. The hotel itself a little dated and the food not bad.

Well located to explore the many villages and date farms which sprinkle across the Liwa Oasis region, Liwa Hotel is clean, spacious, and well maintained; with an excellent pool and grounds. Perched on a hill, it overlooks the Palace, the Fort and date farms. Good restaurants and bars.
Don't miss the drive out to Moreeb dune, (meaning scary or afraid),...

This is a great hotel for the price. The rooms are large and clean (only wish the beds were not so hard). The restaurant was not too exciting but ordering from the menu was better than getting the buffet. The most amazing feature of the hotel is the view of the dunes. And one can just walk out of the...

my guidebook described this place as a basic luxury hotel. and it truly is. clean and spacious rooms. a view of Liwa desert from my balcony. huge territory, nice pool area. it's not a fancy hotel, but a very comfortable place to stay
Liwa Hotel is a very decent hotel ideally located in the middle of the Liwa Oasis, at the entrance of the Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali), close to the famous Moreeb Dune area.
Our family together with friends have already spent 3 week-ends at Liwa Hotel.
Everybody enjoys the large swimming pool before or after going for dune bashing in...

I think this hotel deserves a star more than the three-average it has at the moment. It's certainly not the Qasr Al Sarab, but if you want to stay in Liwa and can't afford to splurge, then this place will suit.
The grounds and appearance of the hotel are very good. The view over the desert and the pool were...

We - a family of 2 adults and 2 kids aged 3 and 6 - stayed 3 nights (we original planned 4) at Liwa Hotel. We got a room on the ground floor where the seems and edges of the wallpaper where loose in most places and the room really needed a refurb. The bathroom was quite OK and clean....

This is not some fabulous five star establishment. This is a good, solid, value for money establishment. The rooms are large and spacious, plenty of space if you have children with you for the extra beds to be brought in. The swimming pool is large and refreshing, the gardens are great for kids to run around in and there is...

We visited the hotel during Eid holidays and stayed for two nights and three days. Overall experience was quite good. Good spacious rooms, excellent cooperation from staff, good food, fine arrangement for all adventure you want to do in the dessert and a nice pool if you want to stay indoors. Can't complain at all. Though I was a little...

The rooms were spacious and well air-conditioned, and of a very good standard - but if possible avoid rooms overlooking the car park, especially those in the vicinity of the dune-buggies parked there (room numbers 223 onwards). Engine tuning, revving and adjusting is done here by the locals preparing their vehicles for events or a day in the dunes, and...
