4 of us flew in about 2 weeks before the iconic Birdsville Races, and the place was already getting busy. A colourful and easy flight from Maree, we observed amazing scenery of the dry and isolated outback during a 3 and1/4 hour flight. The Birdsville Hotel/motel is conveniently directly across the road from the very good airstrip and also the... More

This place is a hoot. 120 miles to the next beer. The Pub us just plain fun. We flew to Birdsville in a Cessna 172. Three hours across the desert can may you mighty dry. The dinner was very good, much better than we would have expected. The hotel was a bit basic there are 27 rooms. I would not... More

After long hours driving over some pretty bumpy dusty roads between Cameron Corner and Birdsville, we were delighted to find this oasis of luxury. Aircon, hot showers, soft beds, a kitchen with microwave and fridge, a living area with sofa, TV, dining table, etc. All clean, modern and well-maintained. First visited Birdsville about 30 years ago after crossing the Simpson,... More

Yes it is really well known but it didn't disappoint. Stayed there recently while on a tour and loved every second. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The pub was just as I hoped it would be and the staff were very friendly. Food was great and helpings too big!!!! ....well for me! Just be careful not to put... More

Yes it's the only Hotel/Motel in town but it is an extremely well appointed and set out establishment. We had the 2 bedroom family room and what a surprise package. Extremely well appointed and with everything you could ever wish for provided. The only iffy thing about the place is the cost of the meals, but I guess you live... More

We were in Birdsville for one night and tossed up whether to eat at the pub or not but glad we did. It is worth the visit as the meal was very good as was the service. If you find yourself in Birdsville just passing through, eat at the pub, you won't be disappointed.

Stayed at the Birdsville Hotel (motel rooms behind the hotel). They were very clean and comfortable. Staff hospitality was great. Pub is an iconic one with very interesting and extensive memorabilia with a wide range of meals and drinks.

This is one of Queensland's most iconic hotels. The bar is filled with history and memorabilia and the exterior retains an outback charm. Rooms are not luxurious but are comfortable and more than adequate for a short stay. Staff were very friendly and polite but did not always seem to know what procedures to follow...but maybe I got someone new.... More

After crossing the simpson desert it was a delight to find this hotel with great food, good service and friendly staff. Some hotels elsewhere should take a lesson from this hotel as the quality of the food and prices for an outback hotel was amazing.
