After crossing the simpson desert it was a delight to find this hotel with great food, good service and friendly staff. Some hotels elsewhere should take a lesson from this hotel as the quality of the food and prices for an outback hotel was amazing.

After experiencing a nice friendly pub down the track, we arrived expecting the same in Birdsville.. The staff all seem unfriendly and extremely busy. Everything in the hotel is expensive and I wasn't fond of the 'outback loop' advertising over everything, this corporate logo appears so often over the walls, it's even on directional signs to the bar! Is this... More

After 4 days crossing the Simpson the Birdsville pub was a great place to reminisce over a beer, get a hot shower and wash some clothes. The first night was great with a BBQ night the second night though was a big disappointment as we lined up for nearly one hour trying to get to the buffet. No doubt running... More

We arrived at birdsville the hard way, that is on an east west desert crossing of the country so after a week or so of camping, it was a treat to stay here at the Birdsvillle hotel.Rooms were clean and comfortable and the meals were of a standard that i did not expect.ie they were excellent. The pub was crowded... More

We stayed in Birdsville after crossing the desert, enjoyed a hot shower and then off to the pub for a drink and dinner. What a meal it was. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, the kangaroo salad was delicious, in fact all meals that came to our table (10) raised oohs and aahs. The presentation would rival any city... More

Enjoyed a few beers and a very nice meal in the Birdsville Pub. Very good standard for such a remote town. Great to see a heritage building in such good condition and enjoyed by locals and tourists alike.

I stayed at the Birdsville Hotel for 3 nights in mid August. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Absolutely no complaints. There were a million mozzies in the room when I arrived, but that was quickly rectified with the can of mortine left in the room. After that they didn't seem to get in again. Bottled water... More

We stayed in a motel room with our 2 kids after a day driving the Birdsville track. The room was warm and clean, and we enjoyed the outdoor BBQ for dinner around the bonfire. The kids enjoyed the playground and trampoline and the laundry was handy too.

We flew in bought Avgas, and stayed one night. Everyone was friendly. The food was edible, and the accommodation clean and (unit 23) well insulated. What do people expect in a town of 200. Geez. Why anyone would return in any case is beyond me unless you like the desert and have tons of time. We didn't/don't . Lower your... More

There was no interest shown in the people in the hotel bar. even had to tell them that since there were two of us we needed two stubbies instead of the one that was offered. We had intended to stay in town, but because of our experience we headed off to Bedowie , 2 hours away where the people were... More
