What a great break away from the city. Keith and Ann are really helpful letting you know what there is to do in the area, being close to some good bush walks and fantastic beaches. The ensuite rooms are a nice size and spotlessly clean with endless views over the local bush and out to sea. More

Great secluded location. Good quality room and large (shared) lounge area. Keith & Ann were very friendly and helpful. Very welcoming of our 1 yr old daughter. Close to beaches, good family tramping....but be warned you won't find any wine in Piha...so make alternative arrangements. Would certainly recommend the LKL. We'll be back there for sure. More

Lovely quiet location, great bedding and large lounge area with good breakfast set up, morning view to the valley of ferns. The Spa is a bonus, outside, among yet more ferns. Watch The Piano on DVD (again) or read magazines in your downtime. Good information from Keith about the local walking trails and good afternnoon treats from Anne. Very pleasant... More

We only stayed one night at Lone Kauri Lodge, but found it to be perfect for visiting Karakere & Piha beaches, as well as the fantastic Waitakere Ranges visitor centre not far away. We were greeted with afternoon tea and Ann's muffins and then much appreciated the advice from Keith on our afternoon's activities, as well as help with our... More

What a fabulous location for a B & B and wonderful warm hosts looking after us! The room was beautifully furnished, bathroom very modern and overlooking the bushland, so many beautiful touches like the flower on the bedside table, afternoon tea waiting for us when we return from being out, books & maps to read, and the most delicious breakfast... We found Keith and Ann to be excellent hosts with all our needs being met. Our stay was very relaxing, like home away from home. Our accommodation was clean tidy with lovely furnishings. The bedrooms had beautiful covers and throws. Each bedroom had a modern ensuite. Can’t wait to go back and be spoilt with Ann’s delious baking and relax... More

Over in NZ for the Rugby so a real action packed trip as only there for just over two weeks. We pre booked the Lone Kauri Lodge and thank goodness we did. Right from the start of our stay Keith and Ann Bishop were extremely accommodating at this fantastic B&B. We could not fault anything, the breakfast was great and... More

We chose LKL for our honeymoon as a place to branch off to other sites. It's a home stay place where you can meet other guests. I don't think you'll find any friendlier people than Keith and Ann Bishop in all of NZ. They are incredibly accommodating. It's as if you are staying with friend. Their recommendations are spot on... Lovely place set in breathtaking rain forest, a bit out of the way, but that made it all the more special and was a great place to get over the jet lag. Room was nice size, big bed, large bathroom, not much side space though for toiletries and make up etc. Very helpful and accomodating hosts (greeted with tea and... More

A lovely place to stay. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you to the hosts. Lovely rooms, great breakfast. Just make sure you've taken the directions from the website, otherwise if you are driving in the dark you might have some difficulty finding it. Set in a lovely setting if you want to get away from it, this place is great. More
