We stayed in this wonderful hotel for one night on our way from Roscoff to South of France. What a wonderful way to start the holiday! Clare greeted us warmly when we arrived and showed us around our rooms before making us all drinks. Our bedroom was beautiful, overlooking the port. Everything has been thought of....not only a tea and... More

We enjoyed a wonderful four night stay at L'Etoile du Port. Superb location with charming river outlook and easy access to/from road networks. The property was exceptional - beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and full of homely features. Our bedroom was spacious with French style beamed ceiling, comfortable bed, ample storage, tea/coffee facilities and stunning bathroom. The lounge area was superbly... More

This is a lovely old historic house by the side of the river and about 20 minutes walk from town. It is run by an English person but very much in the French style. Clare is extremely welcoming and friendly, maybe tries a bit too hard for some. Our room was comfortable and a good size, wi-fi excellent. We had... More

Firstly, we weren't sure if we should write this review, as it may only encourage more people to stay here! However, we thought that we should be fair to Clare the owner. We stayed at Clare's for 2 nights at the end of June 2015. Lovely house and a delightful place to stay, and Clare is absolutely charming. We were... More

We arrived early evening after a 7 hour drive from Vallalodid. We texted our ETA and Clare was there to meet us and help us up with our bags. Parking is on the road just outside. We had a lovely room with sloping ceilings and a view over the water. Clare was very helpful with a local map and options... More

Lovely old property, crammed full of character. Very comfortable bed, impeccably clean rooms. Shared lounge-dining room with a kitchen attached where food and wine could be kept chilled and prepared and consumed at leisure. The host, Clare, was very friendly and a mine of information about the local area which was invaluable. The stay was very informal and almost felt... More

What did we like? We loved the setting, the comfort of home, the fabulous breakfast but most of all we loved Clare, the owner. Wow! In her is found an example of how a b&b should be run. Her easy going manner, her sincere welcome, her attention and her local knowledge all make her place a special place to stay.... More

This beautifully restored building beside river and lake, contains a rarely found treasure - the owner Clare. Nothing is too much trouble, hot drinks are provided, restaurants are located and their qualities identified. The rooms are charming, very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with masses of white fluffy towels and crisp white linen. Clare's breakfasts are delicious and plentiful. Well worth... More

What do you get if you blend an elegant French merchant house with a classy English decor? Add in a hostess who ensures your visit will be comfortable and memorable? Clare Pickering has created a haven of peace, a better home from home and an oasis of tranquility. We stayed one night, then booked for a week. Bliss!

Absolutely charming Chambres d'hotes. Claire is as welcoming and hospitable as they come and upgraded us to the suite as it was low season. The décor is lovely - a fantastic old building with original features tastefully decorated, comfortable beds with quality bedding, showers hot and powerful, towels fluffy and plentiful, great continental breakfast - I could go on. It... More
