Sooo peaceful, if what you look for is a runaway quiet and relax, is the perfect spot. The place is od but charming, with owners with good customer oriented service. The train is scary hehe, but fun! The food I had was very good (veil) the rest of dishes were simple and very abundant, but not bad. As a native... More

Large gorgeous hotel in the Swiss Style. Priced at $55/couple. This Swiss style lodge is the brainchild of one man and his wife, Franz and Silena Ulrich. $55 gets you a very nice breakfast with home made Swiss bread and jam, cocoa and lots more. The rooms are large and designed like a Swiss lodge. NO air cond but in this... More

Passing from Sarapiqui to Guanacaste, we stoped at this great place. Silena (the owner) welcomed us very kindly and we felt "at home". We were in depth briefed about all the many possible activities near the place. We enjoed the "hanging bridges" tour as well as the trip with the train (part of the hotel, price included in the rate... More

We got married on July 5, 2013 in the quaint chapel located on the property. I did a lot of research before we decided on this venue and location, through my research I found that unfortunately some of the wedding vendors in Costa Rica are over priced comparatively to the US. The owners of the hotel were so gracious and... More

A fantastic experience. The typical Swiss chalet construction, the railroad that takes you up to the church and then to the revolving restaurant that gives you 360 degree views on top of the mountain overlooking the lake, the bridges on the way, and the tunnels take you to the Swiss Alps. You would be in awe when you find out... More

My husband and I were heading towards Arenal and we decided to stop for some information regarding the area and it was the best thing we did. The owner (very personable) gave us excellent recommendations, discounts and drew us detailed maps. She is very knowledgeable about the area and gave great recommendations that made our trip outstanding. We ended up... More

We stayed in La Pequeña Helvetia for 2 nights and it was quite nice. Definitely the place was built exactly like a typical Swiss chalet that you would find in Swiss Alps valleys... So the decoration and limited mountainous comfort goes along... But fine when you know what to expect! ;-) however special award for the toilet seat, it was... More

My wife and I stayed one night a Sat to a Sunday. We were so impressed with the place, the food, the owners, the experience of farming, dairy, and the trip in the train is a must. I recommend this place to anyone who comes to Northern Costa Rica.

This is between Nuevo Arenal and La Fortuna. If for no other reason go for the scenic view. This is a restaurant owned by a Swiss expat. The food is all local, they make their own cheese and sausages on site. The restaurant was quite good, service was excellent. There is a chapel on the property which is well worth... More

When we arrived to the hotel, we were invited by Mrs Selena, who is really nice person. The hotel itself is quite cozy with really good service. Breakfast was tasty with europien type of bread. Closed to the hotel there is pool which we unfortunatelly did not use because rainy weather and a lack of time. The owners and staff... More
