We stopped here for a cuppa and breakfast on our way down to the coast after staying near the volcano. We both wished we had stayed here instead of at Cerro Chato eco lodge. Place was lovely, food good and staff great. The scenery was stunning too and the place was cheap. What more could you want. Not luxurious by... More

This was one of the best hotels I have been to. The scenery in the back of the hotel is amazing. They have a path you can walk through in the back of the hotel through the jungle that leads to the stream of water. All of the rooms are unique and the sounds of the wildlife are enchanting. The... Unfortunately we already had reservations at our next hotel, otherwise I would gladly have stayed the night! Such an amazing place and the suite must be one of the most amazingly simple, elegant and beautiful hotel rooms I have been in. To wake up to that view. These guys are truly blessed! There is a new trail going down to... More

since I was by myself and no one else was staying there. " Choose any room I want...for $15/night." OK . The rooms here are very nice! I choose the Jungle Room. Awesome! Thanks! I asked where I could buy beers, and groceries. "I've got beer. How many do you want?" Says friendly Jeff. Three say I. ok here, no... More

We heard so many wonderful things about Toad Hall and were really excited about our stay. Unfortunately, we took the jeep-boat-jeep from Monteverde which promised us a door to door service. Instead, we were dropped off in La Fortuna without any means of getting to Toad Hall. Since a taxi to get there would be way to expensive we were... More

we did not stay here, just stopped for a bit and visited, BUT what a fun place this would be for my kids to stay at. The premier room, big kitchen living area and funny bedroom, $165 per night. To much funky one bedrooms for about 85 bucks. Too much, how about a hostile for $15 a night. The owner... More

Breaks up the drive from Arenal to Monteverde. Stopped by and browsed through gift shop since restaurant was closed. Again not much to add but a good place to stop and stretch legs during the long drive.

There is much I could say about a place as beautiful as this but its not worth saying because the owner does not know how to treat people and is not a man of his word.. we were robbed by a previous worker and the night guard while the owner was out of town and left us in charge of... More

I sincerely regret that you cannot find some of your belongings. However, as in any case, it is always advisable to place any valuables in a security box. We make security boxes available in all of our rooms in order to avoid such occurrences which are beyond our control and cannot be held responsible for. I appreciate the information which... More

Arrived at Toad Hall on a promise of work! It is an incredible place and I was asked to manage everything. My meals were paid for, including wine and a beautiful place to sleep!! I was set on staying forever until the owner Jeff began to show his true colors. The workers here are incredible! They are responsible for all... More

I appreciate hearing from your perspective. As in any employee / worker relationship, there are times that we may not agree and as a result, it is best to part ways. We provide our workers with a lovely working environment, housing, salary and even additional incentives. Yes, the salary in Costa Rica is lower than the U.S. as it is... More
