**When reading these reviews, make sure you notice which part of the world the guests were coming from. Notice who was happy with their stay and where they were from. Notice who was not happy with their stay and where they were from. I made my decision to stay at Hummingbird based on the raving reviews from this site. However,... more

Management response from

Obviously nobody at the Hummingbird has a problem with any guests, of any nationality. The previous review was written by a single American female. But the same cannot be said of the bahaviour of certain people (for example, 2 middle aged women travelling alone) and a certain kind of tourist covers the behaviour we are talking about. This is not...

I spent ten nights at Hummingbird on a recent vacation. It is located on Store Bay Road and is pretty convenient to restaurants, markets, and the Store Bay Beach Facility (about a 15-20 minute walk). The owners are friendly and helpful but not intrusive. My standard room was spotlessly clean and well-furnished. There was a mini-bar in the room that... more

Travelling as a large group ( we accomodated nearly all the rooms!) is not easy in such a small hotel but we needn't have worried. On arrival Paul took care of assisting with luggage and ensuring we all got settled without stress and Linda greeted us all with a beaming smile and showed us our rooms. Paul and Linda are... more

When I arrived at this hotel (without reservations), I noticed the owners were sitting at a table with some of its customers drinking tea and talking world politics. The hotel had a relaxing and calm atmosphere about it. As I approached the office, Linda quickly came with a warm smile to welcome me and my guest to the Hummingbird Hotel.... more

Stayed a few days at one of the suites at this nice hotel in late January 2009. Nice spacious room with ceiling fan and AC. Well equipped little kitchen. Small hotel (8 rooms) with personalized service. Everything is very clean and tidy. Conveniently located within reasonable walking distance of the two main beaches in Tobago. You can get breakfast and... more

I can echo most of what others have said in their positive reviews. HOWEVER, there are a lot of truths that have not made it into the reviews that you should know before you decide to stay at the Hummingbird so you won't be surprised like we were. If you like to have coffee or tea in the morning, the... more

We stayed for about two days in Tobago. The hotel environment was lovely. It was convenient for us especially the location of Store Bay Beach right down the street (15 minute walk). This is a mini-mart down the street (10 minute walk) called "Tell Ah Friend" if you are purchase drinks, snacks, hygiene items on your own. It was clean... more

We wanted to explore Tobago on a tight budget and therefore the Tripadvisor reviews put The Hummingbird top of our list. Don’t expect 5 star for 2 star prices, but what you do get are spotlessly clean functional air conditioned rooms with new beds, sat TV, and a stocked fridge at bar prices. Plus, the use of a well maintained... more

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Hummingbird Hotel. The rooms were perfect and had a powerful air conditioning unit that adjusts to your preference. Paul, the owner, and his wife Kim were very welcoming and catered to our every need. I liked that the room came with a mini refridgerator that was stocked with popular island beverages.... more

My wife and I (and some family),all stayed at the Hummingbird from August 27th until September 3rd. We were there for a wedding. Paul and Linda Mountjoy were the most gracious host that mankind has ever known. If they don't already have one, they should be awarded a P.H.D. so that they could instruct the world on what true hosting... more
