Quite possibly the most welcoming, relaxing retreat I've ever had the pleasure to stay at. The location is beautiful, peaceful but central to many walks, areas of natural beauty as well as more tourist based attractions around Chirk/ Llangollen. Rooms and facilities are spotless, comfy and cosy, and you could not find a more charming, attentive and helpful host as... More

We loved our stay at Swn-y-Dwr (the Sound of Water). The house is in a quiet location near Chirk and a very short drive to Llangollen.. Our room was warm and comfortable and overlooked picturesque fields behind. Kath was a wonderful host, offering us much information of things to see and do in the area. Breakfast each morning was delicious.... More

The place is a kind of agrotourismo then b&b - at least some kind of mixture. Place is very quiet and located in short driving distance from beautiful town Llangollan which You must visit when You are in area. The Owner treats the place a hobby so You can not expect professional hotel service but rather relation like You would... More

A warm welcome, a lovely, light and comfortable room with a wonderful view over the beautiful garden and brook leading to rolling fields. Kath did everything to make my short stay comfortable. Breakfast included artisan bread and 'proper' coffee. Whether travelling on business, leisure or walking Offa's Dyke - this is the place to stay!!! Thank you Kath - I'll... More

Very welcoming, friendly and comfortable B&B. Clean, spacious accommodation and good food. Enjoyed our stay immensely and would like to have stayed longer. The additions on the tea/coffee tray were much appreciated! Lovely quiet spot to use as base to explore the area. Mervyn, Lin and Dot

I stayed with Kath and the dog, Tammy, for the first six nights of July 2012. My room was on the top floor; it felt like my own private apartment complete with bath and lovely views of the amazing garden and farm opposite. This quiet location is perfect for exploring North Wales, visiting the Llangollen Eisteddfodd and doing some ancestry.... More

As two muddy Offa's Dyke walkers, arriving in light rain, we got a friendly welcome. Kath took us up to our room where there was fresh milk for the tea, buttered tea bread (lots of slices) and an offer to drive us into Chirk for dinner (as the local Golf Club we'd planned on eating at wasn't doing food that...
