I wonder where you all stayed ? Not the same hotel as us surely. Easier to list problems than a lot of prose so here goes. 1) 30 minutes waiting at check -in while the kind receptionist did her best single handed. There was another member of staff, I presume , sitting there playing with her iPhone while at least... More

The Hotel Ribera de Duero is located just a short walk from downtown Penafiel and is situated in a nice courtyard setting with magnificent view of the castle. A clean comfortable hotel with a very nice bar and restaurant. Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful and provided a map and directions to local places of interest. We were... More

My husband and I had a great stay at this hotel. It is located about 15 mins walk from the bus stop on the edge of town (the town is small). We had a package deal offered by the hotel which included 1 night stay, a visit to a winery, dinner and breakfast. It was great value and would recommend... More

I do laugh sometimes when I read reviews of hotels I've visited: there seems to be a large number of miserable b*st*rds on this site for whom nothing is ever good enough but, I suppose, if you go in with that curmudgeonly attitude then you're likely to find fault with everything. For the record, I'd just like to say that... More

Average 3 star hotel, probably one of the best places in town. Located at a very busy road with traffic all day and night. Rooms rather small. Restaurant is good. Penafiel has its castle, nothing more. Wineries don't offer many possibilities to visit.

We are on our way down to the South of Spain and needed somewhere to stay. A little off the beaten track but Penafiel is worth a detour for the castle and the wine and this is a good hotel to stay at. The staff are very attentive and the food at the restaurant very good.

The Hotel Ribera Del Duero seems to lack the charm of its surrounding area. It’s old and big, and I got the sense that it had seen its heyday and/or primarily caters to business travelers. The rooms are newly decorated, small and comfortable with decent sized bathrooms. It’s a quick walk from downtown Ribera del Duero. Free Parking, Air Conditioning,... More
