The restoration of this old building into a stylish hotel has been very well done and the room was very comfortable, large with a very good sized bathroom. When I booked they only seemed to have two rooms available, but it was clear when we were staying there that the hotel was virtually empty, so I have no idea why... More

This hotel is slightly odd for its surroundings. About ten minutes from the nearest bodega, Hotel AF Pesquera is set on the outskirts of the small town around it. The decor was, as many people have mentioned, slightly odd, but it served only to create a sense of isolated space from the outside world, an avant-garde modernist oasis in the... More

Everything here was perfect. Service was excellent, rooms were quiet and well laid out. The décor may not be to everyone's taste and the trip from the underground parking garage to your room can be very confusing but that said I would certainly stay here again if visiting the Ribera del Douro wine region. As a bonus we got a... More

We stayed at AF Pesquera with our children as the base for going around Rivera del Duero wineries. The hotel is located in historical Peñafiel. Good service, nice breakfast and sparkling clean rooms. The owner Alejandro Fernández is a charming host full of stories and plain and humble for such a great achiever. We enjoyed the stay very much and... More

We spent two nights here. The room was large with a comfy bed but there was a wierd dust-catching canopy hung from the ceiling to the window. Bathroom fine but the tub had one of those half doors that couldn't open to allow for the maids to clean and you had to be in the tub to turn on the... More

I visited Penafiel with a friend in October, when the town seemed very quiet already. This was the most expensive hotel of our 10-day trip in the north of spain, so we had some expectations. The room came up to them, it was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was also very nice. We were told that the... More

The hotel is conveniently located in town next to N122 the national road crossing wine country. The lobby is a palette of colors and materials all fighting for integration. The doors are made of red glass that transfer an unsual sensation to the interior and distort the outside view. Once inside you can choose: stone, brick, glass, plain metal, resine,... More

We loved our stay here. The room was very comfortable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel manager Javier was very nice to us. We felt like we were at home. The food at their restaurant was great. We will be back to this beautiful place.

Granted, the hotel is very pretty and the designer has certainly put his touches to the historic building - don't think the red sliding doors is such a good match, but they do lieve an impression! But thats where the fun stops: This hotel is build by wine makers - and it showes, the hotel is no more than a... More

We stayed one night after touring the Bodega Condado de Haza which is an Alejandro Fernandez Bodega. Loved how modern the hotel was. Extremely clean. Nice patio in the back to sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Breakfast was delicious and included. Great location if touring Bodegas in Ribera del Duero.
