Just returned from five days at Maji Moto Cultural Camp, which was indeed a truly wonderful experience. The accommodations were very basic but clean, surprisingly comfortable, and well maintained, and the food was delicious (thanks chef Mwenda). Best of all were the people, who were welcoming and kind. It was a joy and an honor to be welcomed into their... More

My experience at Maji Moto Masai Cultural Camp was definitely the highlight of my 3 week medical trip to Kenya. The people were so genuine and giving, the food was delicious, and the accommodations were comfortable and cozy! I learned so much about the Masai culture, people, plants, and animals, and made some great friends. The hot spring water for... More

Having been doing safaris for more than 10 years in Kenya, I'd say it takes quite a bit to impress me. This was our first time taking the kids (8,10) and grandmothers for a safari, and Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp was our first stop. We arrived late afternoon and were shown our nice and clean rooms made in maasai... More

Having returned from a 10 day trip to Kenya I can reflect with sincerity that our short time here was the highlight of a fantastic trip. I can only reiterate all of the other comments...superb location, perfect accomodation (no one has mentioned how dark is in a mud hut, surreal), excellent guides, humbling experience, hilarious antics. I cannot recommend this... More

Our family visited Maji Moto in December of 2013. We had seen a brief reference to it in THE ROUGH GUIDE TO KENYA and decided to check further. After doing a little research it seemed a good choice for our itinerary. We hired a driver to take us there two nights and full day in between. This turned out to... More

If you are spending time in the Maasai Mara, Maji Moto is a great place to learn more about the entire culture of the Maasai in an enviroment that authentic, yet still "tourist friendly". (Clean &n unique bomas, outhouses, hot showers) In fact, there is not much more I can add to the comments below which already express my sentiments... More

My husband and I, and another couple, spent 5 nights at Majo Moto with Salaton and his community, and we were beyond pleased. Adding this to a safari was a great addition to gain experience and knowledge of traditional Maasai culture. The people were super friendly, the lodging clean and comfortable, and the food delicious yet simple. We had the... More

The idea for this camp is only surpassed by the execution. Somehow they pulled off a mix of western comforts in accommodations (the food was delicious!!) while completely embedded in a traditional nomadic Maasai experience. Knowing that your time there is helping rescue and house young women and support the adjacent widows' village just adds to the spiritual. I can't... More

If you are looking for an incredible cultural experience in Kenya, look no further. My husband and I brought our three young daughters (ages 5, 9 and 11) to spend two nights with Salaton and his impressive team at Maji Moto Cultural Camp, and it was truly one of the most extraordinary experiences we've ever had. Despite spending two full... More

I had a fantastic time at the Maji Moto Maasai Camp. It was a really different kind of experience and a great combination of relaxation, education and socialisation. I stayed in a mud hut (with some "western" amenities) which was cool and comfortable in spite of the heat outside. The meals were simple and delicious. I learned many things about... More
