Dont believe everything you read on trip advisor. This hotel is exellent value for money. The staff are extremely helpful and polite. The food in the restaurant is superb and the service efficient and friendly. The rooms are spacious and clean. There has recently been several changes to the management team at this hotel and it shows. The staff are taking... more

I stayed at the Gleddoch House Hotel and after reading the comments about the hotel on tripadvisor i was abit worried. However my stay was excellent from start to finish. The girls at check in were both friendly and professional and the rooms were spacious and modern. The restaurant was well run and staff were friendly at dinner and breakfast... more

Having recently been married at Gleddoch House, I feel I am in the position to review this hotel having made numerous visits and had a few meals etc over the past year. I have read the other 'negative' reviews and at some points I did worry that perhaps we had chosen the wrong venue .... however, I can honestly say... more

My boyfriend booked this hotel for us to enjoy a relaxing break together. I checked Trip Advisor before we got there and was expecting the hotel from hell! From previous reviews, I was expecting Basil Fawlty to be serving breakfast and a climb to our bedroom similar to killa mount jarve! I couldn't have been more surprised.... Check in was... more

Haviving arrived at the impressive looking building and reception to the 2 mile trek to the bedroom I opened the door to be met with a wall of heat. Incredibly the heating was on in the room!!!!! I stayed for 3 nights was supposed to be 4 but could not stand the heat on w/c 1st of June when there... more

I must say I am surprised at your comments. From your comment regarding the ‘two mile trek to the room’ I can only assume you were in one of our leisure bedrooms. (see previous advice regarding room types) Your comments regarding the heating are therefore confusing because they only heaters in these rooms are individual electric wall heaters that are...

We have stayed at Gelddoch House on the 25th of April and I can unreservedly discourage anyone from spending any time there if at all possible. While the location is nice and the hotel looks impressive from some angles, there are many many issues with it. Most if not all the hotel rooms are in a soulless modern building to... more

Clearly there were aspects of your stay that felt short of your expectations and for this I apologise. I am certain that had you taken the time to speak to me or one of my duty managers during your visit we could have addressed and resolved your concerns. It is somewhat difficult to make comment on your experience over a...

Supposed to be special wedding anniversary treat, wish had stayed at home. This hotel is the most badly designed hotel ever, the reception is appealing that is about it, although the room and bed were big, the room we were put in was up two flights of stairs and at the other end of the hotel from the souless bizarre... more

Sorry to hear the hotel was not as you expected. I believe we have spoken since and you were more than happy with the resolution, however I don’t recall your comments on the leisure club which don’t offer much in the way of helpful feedback for us or others reading this. If you would like to contact me again and...

We have just returned from a most enjoyable 3 day stay at Gleddoch. We were apprehensive about staying here after reading the negative reviews. Unfortunately when we arrived to book in there had been a mistake on room allocation and only one room was allocated to our party instead of two, this was swiftly rectified by the hotel and we... more

We enjoyed a two day break. All the staff we met were friendly helpful and efficient. Our requests were dealt with politely and promptly. Service in the dining room was good and the meals delicious and well presented. We enjoyed the pool sauna and steam room. An excellent value break. John and Lorraine more

We stayed here for two nights in August 2008, with our two children, aged six and seven. The hotel itself is situated on a hill overlooking the Clyde estuary, which is beautiful. On arriving, we were informed that our room was not quite ready, but as we had packed sandwiches, we drove down to the estuary and had a picnic... more
