Stayed at Pension Kanon for a week Feb. 2014. We enjoyed our stay and the small pension was clean and comfortable. It was a very good location close to the main intersection and very easy to walk to various locations in Hirafu. The breakfast was quite good and our room was very good for the price we paid especially compared... More

This is the third time I've stayed with Morio-san at Kanon. His service as a host is top-level, from his communication through to taking care of all of your needs during your stay. The location of the pension is perfect, in the midst of everything you need and only a five minute walk to get you on the first lift.... More

My father and I stayed at this pension in January and were very happy with our choice. Kanon has two available accommodations: a backpackers lodge and a pension. We stayed in the pension. For the price this was an excellent value for everything we needed. Location was great. Centrally located in the Hirafu village close to restaurants, convenience stores, and... More

I stayed here during early January 2014, and had a fantastic time. The lodge has a very homely feeling. Breakfast (toast, eggs, ham, cereal, fruit, coffee, etc.) is served each morning in the restaurant, and is always of good standard. Rooms are all decent sized, and there is a separate shed for skis, and boot room. There is also two... More

Great value. Generous breakfast buffet servings. Staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, made us feel right at home. They were also very flexible and accommodating with our needs in terms of payment and change in travel dates. The walls are a tad thin so you can hear whats going down the hall. We stayed in a very cosy traditional... More

I lived at this house for a couple of years in the nineties. These are great people and the place is beautiful. Architecturally designed and very tasteful. The view from the dining room of the white birch trees and creek behind the house is beautiful. They have a mix of western style and Japanese style futon rooms. I prefer the... More

We have stayed here twice now, once in 2010 and now in 2013 and both times was great. We had a double room this time with bunk beds and even a couch to sit on so plenty of room for ski clothes, jackets etc for the two of us. The rooms are very clean, but basic and the beds are... More

We stayed here 9 nights in the Japanese style room (futons). Plenty of space, good breakfast, nice & clean and best of all lovely hosts who were very helpful, friendly & met our bus & dropped us back off at the bus when we left. Loved the gorgeous dog who lives in the entrance. Thank you Morio & family!

Niseko has transitioned forms sleepy Japanese ski town into an international ski destination with luxury condos and 5 star dining. As such, finding accommodation in a great location with reasonable rates is becoming exceedingly difficult. Pension Kanon is a Japanese bed & breakfast with 9 rooms, shared restrooms and baths. A hearty breakfast buffet is served from 8-9am each morning.... More

We stayed in a quad room with three people. It was tight with our snowboard gear, but we managed. Our room had bunk beds and was very basic. But more important, it was clean. If you ask for a Japanese style room, it will likely be larger. There is free wifi. The breakfast is included and was decent quality. One... More
