A beautiful location overlooking the Tronto valleys, hills and Grand Sasso. The gardens are magnificent, the pool inviting, the restaurant excellent, and all the staff were always helpful for every request. A great location to visit the surrounding attrantions. Don't miss the nearby historic hill town, Offida. Probably one of the most beautiful and friendly, with the locals proud to... More

Difficult to find very good places to stay in this area of Marche region. The Palazzo of Princess Pignatelli is very impressive with its antique furnitures and paintings. The staff at reception desk was very helpful for tips and reservations in local excellent sea food restaurants in San Benedetto del Tronto. Breakfast was nice under a charming pergola with a... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your positive review on the Borgo. In Le Marche Region there are a few good hotels that cater well for special requests and needs. There are not as many as in other Regions as we are better known for charming Boutique Residences, B&Bs and Country Homes. Here at the Borgo, we have decorated the Palazzo... More

As soon as I looked at the website I knew that this would be the ideal location following a week's retreat in Gubbio. I was a little concerned that as a non-driver it mght be difficult to reach by public transport however the wonderful Emma and Maria patiently answered all my e-mails and this confirmed that the Borgo Storico would... Dear Mrs. O'Regan, It was a great pleasure to meet you in August and thank you so so so much for taking the time and attention to write the most kind and gentle review of the Borgo. We are always happy to host single travellers as they contribute a lot to our daily lives: there is more time to "chat"... More

My husband and I spent a week here in early August. Best points: the staff, first and foremost, and particularly David, who works in the restaurant - in fact he seems to run it single handed! Nothing was too much trouble for him. Also, the castle itself, which is quite magical, and the peaceful gardens. The location is both good... More

Positives: 1. A palatial building - a bit like a stately home - with lots of fabulous stuff everywhere, including two lovely old red setters to say hello to. 2. Retains its coolness in the heat of an Italian summer but our room had very efficient aircon as well. 3. Some of the friendliest staff I have ever met -... More

Dear NWH56, Thank you so much for the positive review on the Borgo. The main Villa is a "Palazzo" and it has been in our family for centuries, making it today, through the experiences of our guests, a "living monument". The two irish setters - loved by all the Borgo staff - are brother and sister and are called Brass... More

There is a choice of palace hotel or 2 bed appartments set in attractive grounds with restaurant and pool. Well placed greenery hides the industry in the town below (which is ugly) so you can enjoy the hills beyond and the gardens. There is a motorway on the other side of the valley which is audible but not too disruptive.... More

Dear Mr. Gaffelaar, Thank you so much for your realistic and positive review on the Borgo. We appreciate up front comments from all our guests as we strive constantly to improve. We enjoyed 2 weeks of pleasant relaxation, the facilities are excellent and the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was under a roof of vines in a historic setting and the pool area is well-kept and uncrowded. There is a breathtaking view of the valley and the mountains to the east and we just loved it all! The restauant, albeit rather... More

This is a glorious old and very spacious house packed full of lovely antiques. It really is stunning. Our room - one of their cheapest at 150 euros was outstanding value, and had a quiet elegance. No there are no power showers or modern flat tv screens just comfortable, charming furniture, a very decent sized bed, and a lovely bathroom.... More

Dear Paul5, Thank you so much for your kind and positive review of July! All the antiques in our home are from past generations that have collected them in Italy, England and Asia.
