Clean room and comfortable bed. OK for one night - shared bathroom wasn't ideal but that was reflected in the price which was very reasonable for Norway. Nice breakfast prepared by very friendly staff. Noise was a bit of a problem - both inside from other guests (the wooden building seems to amplify doors being shut and people talking) and... More

I at a nice dinner in the restaurant with my mother, and it was great. It wasn't perfect, since I had to find forks and knives and glasses myself, but since I've worked there it wasn't a problem. The main course was good. We both ordered ox, which was good and tasty, but not amazing. The dessert was really good,... More

It is a very well intentioned place, using local ingredients like ramslok(a kind of wild herb reminiscent of garlic). Unfortunately the flavours are not that well balanced, so you end up with a pretty average tasting meal. Prices about averge for Norway, expect to pay close to 400 for lunch with dessert per person. Hotel is cosy, and the staff... More

We stayed for a night during a family trip through Western Norway. My daughter enjoyed the bunk beds in our room (#10), and we were glad to have a small sink as well. Some stairs to contend with and parking is across the street, but the staff offered a warm welcome and plenty of information about the local area. We... More

The owner of the hotel emerged when I arrived announcing I'd like to have my bike in my room and that I was booked for two nights. He said "I'm giving you a room with a view of the fjord, instead of the single room, at the back". He knew the change he was making, but when I got to... More

I stayed one night for a business trip in the off-season, and my experience would probably have been different in summer. Upon arrival I had trouble finding the right entrance, since the hotel looked all shut down for the sesaon, but eventually the hotel manager and his dog came out to meet me. He was friendly and helpfull, but it... More

We stayed there one night during our road trip around west coast in may 2014. We enjoyed the stay, building is beautiful, old but kept in good shape, rooms were clean, sufficient in size with nice view from the window. The only problem was that there was no heating in the room and we were cold at night. Shared bathroom... More

My husband and I stayed just one night as the first night on a cycling tour during the 3rd week of August 2014. We seemed to be the only guests in the hotel! The owner was helpful and showed us where we could stow our bikes. Our first impression of the hotel was that it was very grand and historic.... More

This is a very nice, family run hotel with relaxed atmosphere. It has just recently been tastefully renovated. Clean rooms, a balcony for the morning coffee, and a garden for the evening white wine. Location is by the port, so you can be lucky and pick up some fresh shrimps, or just enjoy the boat traffic and fjord view. The... More

We spent two nights there during a film project. The little harbour looks so nice. From there a ferry goes straight to Bergen. Watch my video to see more! https://vimeo.com/100634392 Whole story: I spent a week filming in the beautiful country Norway. We startet our tour in the harbour of Stavanger, where we arrived with our ferry. After 6 hours... More
