The food is not very good as it is always the same: rice, fish and sometimes chicken and a bit more rice. No fruit. We spent there five days and and the last two days we were too many people and there wasn't food enough for everybody. The local staff was very, very nice, and the location is beautiful. Sometimes... truth be told getting to togian islands is not easy. it takes time but it's totally doable. arriving at wakai island we were immediately welcomed by the nicest staff from black marlin identifying themselves with their tshirts. the transfer to the resort from the ferry boat terminal just takes a few minutes. the rooms have beautiful views and the reef... Don't waste your money on a trip here,it is difficult to get to, the diving is not that fantastic compared to other sites in Sulawesi and the accommodation is below average. The rooms are old and very hot of a night especially when the fans stop running at around 11:00 due to the power being turned off. Even though this... More

Black Marlin is situated on a beautiful part of Kadidiri Island. The rooms are nice with lovely decorative accents and ensuite bathrooms. Each room has their own balcony and hammock. The food is simple hearty Indonesian cuisine served family style. The beach is pretty short but they have some nice lounging areas that overlook the water. I only went snorkeling... More

Black Marlin bills itself as a dive center, and it is, but is also a nice destination for non-divers. Getting there is a challenge: we took the route in from Luwuk by taxi to Ampana, then by local boat (interesting cultural experience, but slow) and speedboat from Siatu. On the way out we took the overnight ferry to Gorantalo, which... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights in early June. The booking process went smoothly ... Crispin was very prompt in responding to my millions of questions. We took the overnight ferry from Gorontalo. We recommend business class on the ferry ($9) because there is AC and smoking is prohibited. Economy ($7) had no AC and LOTS of... More

I stayed at Black Marlin Dive for 4 days in early January 2014,it was one of the highlights of my trip to Sulawesi. I don't dive but did snorkel over the reef just off the beach, there were 100's of fish of all types. As for the resort the room was clean and a nice size, the food very good... More

Don't go here if you're looking for a five star luxuory resort, but I would say this place was the highlight of our 3/4 week trip through Sulawesi, Lombok and Bali. We also got our SSI open water and we couldn't have wished for a better instructor! The thing we liked the best about the resort was the staff, they... More

We were a group of two couples and one child. We stayed there for 23 days over new year. So quite a long time. First of all, it's a nice place if you expect a very basic stay. We stayed in standard rooms. Electricity is just available in the evening. Till 10.30 or 11 pm. Running water twice a day... More
