This place is truly a truly hiddem gem! We took a 12 hours overnight ferry from Gorontalo to Wakai being transferred onto a speedboat to this lovely paradise. The water around the house reef was so clear that it looks like an aquarium. A must do is the night dive around the house reef and Una Una Island. We only... More

We stayed only 2 nights but wished to have stayed more. Paradise location, small beach with palm trees. House reef in front of the hotel. Good management, nice staff and efficient organisation Restaurant and common places are nicely decorated. There is a sun deck and seating area to have apero at sunset. Superior rooms are quite big and all are... More

Thank you for your review. We are so glad that you had an enjoyable stay with us and that the food and service were as we demand and pride ourselves. It is aways appreciated when guests notice the efforts made with decoration etc as theses are a constant challenge in our remote location. You'll be glad to hear the government... More

We first stayed a couple of nights at Paradise resort after which it was a relief to visit Black Marlin. The Staff is very Friendly and the dive instructors are really good. The bungalows are a bit cheaper than at Paradise and due to the stone houses, less bugs and animals will visit :) The food is good, although a... More

I enjoyed my stay here, one of the best weeks of my life. I took my advanced certification here as well. Great and friendly diving and non diving staff (local or non local). Felt like home. The food could be better and more varied but who cares when you have clean and affordable rooms, plenty of sun, great walls underwater,... More

I am glad you enjoyed the diving so much as is very special with so much to see and combining that with an advanced course is such a good idea to help improve your diving technique at the same time. As you know the dogs; Masker, Rocky, Suunto and Fin are always thrilled to have new guests as potential dog... More

The food is not very good as it is always the same: rice, fish and sometimes chicken and a bit more rice. No fruit. We spent there five days and and the last two days we were too many people and there wasn't food enough for everybody. The local staff was very, very nice, and the location is beautiful. Sometimes... Many thanks for you review of your time with us. As August and our busiest time there are occasional surges in guest numbers which does put a strain on the kitchen and the supply of local produce from the markets. We are trying to remedy this with bring in fresh fruit and veg from Gorontalo etc. Unfortunately with limited electricity... More

truth be told getting to togian islands is not easy. it takes time but it's totally doable. arriving at wakai island we were immediately welcomed by the nicest staff from black marlin identifying themselves with their tshirts. the transfer to the resort from the ferry boat terminal just takes a few minutes. the rooms have beautiful views and the reef... You're right it is a challenge to get to the Togians but always a treat when you're there. With the new airport opening in Ampana end of the year this should make the journey less arduous. I am so glad the staff made you feel so welcome as we pride ourselves on all our staff being close with the guests... More

Don't waste your money on a trip here,it is difficult to get to, the diving is not that fantastic compared to other sites in Sulawesi and the accommodation is below average. The rooms are old and very hot of a night especially when the fans stop running at around 11:00 due to the power being turned off. Even though this... More

I apologise that the resort did not please you during your stay. As july and august are our busiest period of the year there are unexpected occasional hiccups. Regarding your booking problems if I was on the island perhaps due to poor signal perhaps your email slipped through unnoticed. I endeavour to answer all inquiries within 24 hours when possible... Black Marlin is situated on a beautiful part of Kadidiri Island. The rooms are nice with lovely decorative accents and ensuite bathrooms. Each room has their own balcony and hammock. The food is simple hearty Indonesian cuisine served family style. The beach is pretty short but they have some nice lounging areas that overlook the water. I only went snorkeling... More

The sunsets are spectacular and I am so glad that you appreciated them from our pier or numerous bean bags on the beach. Your comments on the coral condition is noted, but this is actually very isolated and effects snorkelling area more than dive sites. Finally the marine park controls will be coming into place so this will provide the... More

Black Marlin bills itself as a dive center, and it is, but is also a nice destination for non-divers. Getting there is a challenge: we took the route in from Luwuk by taxi to Ampana, then by local boat (interesting cultural experience, but slow) and speedboat from Siatu. On the way out we took the overnight ferry to Gorantalo, which... More

Many thanks for you review and I'm glad that we could help with the local transport to our resort.
