Small hotel in an old house tastefully refurbished. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The place is in a commanding position above the town without being more than 5 minutes walk from the main square and the (few) restaurants. We very much enjoyed our stay even if it wasn't for more than a night as were on a hike around... More

We stayed for five nights and we're very impressed by our hosts' friendliness and professionalism. This is a relaxed, well run hotel within walking distance of a few shops and restaurants. Herman and Amara made us feel very welcome, and we loved the vegetarian evening meals and breakfast in the dining room with a lovely log fire. We had a... More

We stayed 10 nights here and could happily have stayed longer. We loved everything about the place. Vallehermoso itself is so picturesque and not touristy at all. Herman and Amala are really lovely people who do everything to make your stay relaxing and special. Their two cats also made us feel right at home. There is a beautiful garden with... More

We stayed 3 nights - our final destination on a weeks walking holiday on La Gomera. It was fabulous accommodation, spacious, full of character set in a spectacular setting and good value. The small number of rooms made for an intimate atmosphere, Herman and Amala were always willing to assist when asked and never intrusive. All the superlatives written by... More

Stayed for 5 nights as a base for walking. Everything was great. Great hosts, nice room (ensuite double), excellent breakfasts and dinners (not sat or wed), great advice for walks many straight from the hotel. Vallehermoso is a lovely, non touristy town in a lovely setting with nice bars and eateries. Would highly recommend

I stayed here with my daughter for six nights in early March. We saw it advertised in "The Vegetarian" magazine and the tripadvisor reviews were good. We both needed some winter sunshine, good walking, peace and quiet, vegetarian food and a beautiful location. Hotel Anaterve ticked all of these boxes - apart from not much sunshine for a couple of... More

We booked Hotel Anaterve as a quiet and unique place for a significant birthday, and the start of our 6 island two-month trip. A birthday dinner for two on-site was the plan, and vegetarian as presented (not selected). And it all worked out so well. Herman and Amala were pleasant and helpful hosts. Rebuilt from a historic ruin, and previously... More

We recently came back from a 5 night stay at this hotel. We were very warmly welcomed by Herman and Amala. The suite we occupied was very clean and spacious. There were marvellous views from the balcony over the valley. There was plenty to eat a breakfast albeit that it was the same every morning. We chose to have evening... More

Just returning from a trip to Canaries and La Gomera, one cannot really find right words to express the gratitude towards Hermann and Amala being part of the holiday and making it such a perfect experience. There really is nothing negative to mention regarding them nor their lovely place Añaterve, but their presence and kindness offering their help, dvd collection... More

Hotel Anaterve for me was magical and romantic. My partner and I stayed here for 7 nights in a double room without balcony but with magnificent views from our 2 large windows looking down on to the town square . We watched it waking up in the morning and the pretty lights of the town by night. We walked everyday... More
