We have just spent the weekend in this lovely country house hotel. The hospitatily and friendliness in this beautiful old house which has been lovingly restored is second to none, this hotel is immaculate and the food is absolutely outstanding. The attention to detail is perfect, from the fresh flowers and fruit in the bedrooms to the canapes before dinner... more

Not much I can add to the reviews below really, other than to keep the good news up to date! We travlled up for a long weekend with my brother and his wife on their recommendation, they had stayed twice before and raved about it, so expectations were pretty high. The best way I can describe staying at Tigh na... more

A truly relaxing and enjoyable break from arrival to departure. We were greeted with a complimentary drink in front of a roaring log fire before being shown to our room (Tulchan). The large room was complete with four poster bed and spa bath in the ensuite. The 5 course evening meals were delicious and we were surprised at the number... more

Everything good that has been posted is true. From the complimentary whisky/sherry on arrival to the huge breakfast, everything was perfect. What stands out most is the personal service from Iain and Elaine. It doesn't feel like staying in a hotel - it feels like staying as a guest in a country house, with a very attentive, but discreet, host.... more

Stunning part of Scotland. For those driving up from Edinburgh/Glasgow, there is so much to see and do on the journey that it becomes an absolute treat. The location is very quiet. There are a few houses around and a local shop/small garage. Otherwise you have Grantown and aviemore close by. For those into both summer and winter pursuits, the... more

Out of all the hotels we stayed in during our time in Scotland, this is the crown jewel we wish we'd dedicated several days to. After a nerve-busting, stomach-wrenching drive across the icy Cairngorms, owner Iain met us at the door with a warm smile, roaring fireplace, and glass of whiskey. This gorgeous historic home of the Lipton tea family... more

Stayed in the Tigh na Sgiath for one night of our honeymoon in the Ballindalloch room - fantastic. Lovely welcome on arrival, complimentary drink by the fire before being shown to our room. Nice cold bottle of champaign waiting for us in the room. Delicious dinner included in the price followed by a gentle relax with a bottle of wine... more

Me and my boyfriend went to a little weekend trip to the highlands and had the fortune to book at Tigh Na Sgiath Country Hotel. This is a quite and charming hotel which is in a beautiful location. The owners are friendly and discrete and extremely professional. We stayed in the "Tulchan" Superior Four Poster Room, which is beautifully decorated,... more

Superb hotel. We were welcomed when we were arrived and offered a drink even though it was eleven at night. Our bags were then carried to our large room with lovely views and a great bathroom. I especially liked the plush carpets in the room. In fact the whole hotel seemed very plush, and was of a 4* standard. The... more
