We have just returned from our fifth stay at this beautiful hotel . Once again it lived up to our expectations. The warm snd friendly welcome along with the beautiful surroundings and incredible food make this Scottish hideaway an absolute treat. It is wonderfully situated for the Cairngorms and all of the he variety of activities that they offer and... More

Just returned from our third stay at Tigh na Sgiath, which we enjoyed immensely. The welcome is so warm, the food is first-class, and everything spotlessly clean. Iain and Elaine must work tremendously hard to consistently maintain such high standards, and they are to be congratulated. More

We stayed at TNS for 3 nights in the Ballindalloch suite (which is the best room as per previous reviews). We did peer into a couple of other rooms though and the standard was still very good indeed. The hotel is spotlessly clean, Ian is a marvellous host who goes out of his way to provide local knowledge. The location... More

With the arrival, you simply feel welcome. Instead of standing on a counter and waiting to get your room, you first get placed in a nicely decorated hall and are offered a drink. Instantly we felt comfy. The hotel spreads an atmosphere of, how shall I put it, great old english style. At least that was how I see it... More

We have stayed here perhaps 4 times and can't believe I haven't written a review before now. Iain and Elaine at Tigh na Sgiath have done something wonderfully special. They have created a delightful and peaceful haven to which throughout the months at home we promise ourselves a return visit. Everything has really been said on previous reviews so come... More

My wife and I wanted a special hotel for our 10th wedding anniversary. We found Tigh na Sgiath on Tripadvisor and booked because of the consistently excellent reviews. So we arrived with high expectations - and we were not disappointed! We were in the very spacious Cromdale room which had an incredibly comfortable bed. The food was outstanding with a... More

My wife and I stayed at the hotel on the 9th March. It was a suprise for her 30th birthday. On arrival we were greeted and given an arrival drink. We were shown to our room the Cromdale. Fantastic large room with great room with nice view and great 1930s retro style bathroom. The owners had very kindly given us... More

My husband and I go to Tigh na Sgiath every year now for a little break. The food is fantastic and the owners are so nice and attentive. The hotel is in such a good position geographically, as there are so many different tourist attractions in the surrounding area. Well worth a visit. More

I have worked in the visitor industry/tourism in Scotland for over 20 years and during the course of my work have stayed in all types of accomodation. Quite by accident I discovered the Tigh na Sgiath Country House Hotel, which, in my opinion, is undoubtedly one of the best small country house hotels, and the reason for many return visits.... More

We stayed one night at this hotel during a mini-tour of the Highlands in May. We were greeted warmly by one of the owners and he told us that as he had had a cancellation our room had been upgraded - lovely! We were in Ballindalloch which was a very large and comfortable room with a little 'turret' side area... More
