We decided to have a white sheet night (not camp) looked around and decided to stay at the Himeville Arms for two nights. Found the staff and Manager pleasant enough. Food was good, lovely curry but the mountain trout not great. Breakfast was good. Room was a big disappointment, for the price it was dark and the parka flooring was... More

This pub lived up to its reputation! Great atmosphere - lots of local folk -made for a fun sociable evening. TV screens for rugby and football for those who can't face missing a game....Good food good service and good value! Bombay curry was delicious, as were the lamb cutlets. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Tip. Pub is a better... More

A nice old gem of a pub. Great atmosphere with lots of old memorabilia. Food was good - de-boned trout and a really nice chicken burger. The service was good and the wine list was surprisingly large and varied. We will return on our next visit to the area.

This hotel is reputadly one of the oldest in the area and whislt it has a "quaint" element it is badly let down by its service. The staff are friendly enough but too few or poorly trained or poorly managed or a mix of all three. The food quality was okay but slow service means s it is inevitably cold... More

Stopping off at this hotel for a pub lunch after a trip up Sani Pass. I delighted in the fact that the hotel is 110 years old. It still has much of its original fittings etc, but alas they have been allowed to fall into disrepair, what a pity. When one ones a gem like this striving for mediocrity is... More

Had their 40R Tuesday special in the bar with a pint. Really enjoyed it. Not fine dining but good grub. Rustic place. Took a very long time for food to come so order as soon as you go in if you are hungry.

After leaving booking too late to get into some of the better rated lodges in the Berg booked in at the Himeville Arms for the night. After having stayed there 15 years ago, and having heard some bad reports in the interim we were a little apprehensive about our stay. We were pleasantly surprised with the neat clean accommodation and... More

Went up to Himeville for a friends wedding recent;y and while I've been to the Arms many times, this was the first time I stayed over there. My room itself didn't have a fire place which is fine, but the wall mounted heater was cracked and not working. When outside temperatures are -3C, a warmed room and heated bed would... More

I did not stay at the hotel but had a really fantastic lunch in the pub. The theme is very much around trout fly fishing as the area is renowned for this, and it has a lovely old central wood bar where you can get numerous craft beers on tap. It has loads of atmosphere and I found the food... More
