Six of us travelled from England and used this campsite as a base for our visits to theme parks in Holland. We had a chalet for 3 couples. The chalet had 1 bedroom with 2 beds, and 2 rooms with bunk beds. The bunk beds had plastic mattresses,a pillow and a large woolly blanket and we all had brought basic bedding... More

Much better than I anticipated, we had a pretty site next to a canal across from the forest. The forest area is gorgeous and it was great fun to bike into the city. I am shocked to see negative reviews of the staff. They were pleasant, helpful, great with our kids...there was one guy who was a little short but... More

Myself, my husband and our two children booked to camp at this site in July of this year (2014) for ten nights. We booked several months prior to our arrival and paid in full. After a seven hours of driving from our home in the UK plus an overnight ferry crossing we arrived at the site tired, but excited to... More

Eco cabins are really great. Well ventilated, tv with bbc news on it, nice beds which you can push together to a double bed and a table. two chairs. Toilets are clean, showers you need flip flops for and cost 1 euro but theyre nice and 6 mins long. Reception was nice, no problems.

Whilst the facilities at Het Amsterdamse Bos are adequate and the location in an urban forest about 10k from the city make for a lovely, if fairly lengthy, cycle ride into town, the whole deal is utterly ruined by the downright antagonistic attitude of the owner. He seems to delight in making difficulties for the unfortunates who have booked into... More

We actually stayed here in a campervan for 4 nights. Firstly the reception was very welcoming and we were left to chose our own pitch which was nice. Only negative is a couple of caravans parked on the grass (not in a pitch) but then used the electricity at hardstanding pitches therefore making those pitches unavailable. The site atmosphere is... Stayed in a chalet here -was a aesthetically pleasing and safe place to stay in. You'll have to catch a bus into the city (takes 20 mins). You'll have to pay for toilet roll, linen and also hot shower facilities.

45 minute metro away from anywhere in Amsterdam although advertising only '20 minutes'. On a night out in Amsterdam the metro shuts at 12pm and doesn't reopen until 6am, meaning a good 2 hour wait in a train station. On arriving to the campsite, my friend unfortunately had our only key and had got on a different metro..I asked reception... More

We stayed for 3 nights in a cabin. It took us a while to find the campsite from the city centre but that was before we knew about the metro - the nearest station to the site is Spinnerij on route 51. The campsite has all the basics you need, including a small shop for things like bread and milk,... More

We stayed here for a week, firstly in a cabin (booked through HostelWorld) and then in a tent. It took us a long while to arrive at the location. For anybody wanting easy instructions from the centre via public transport: the tram is the quickest and cheapest way: 2.80 euro for a one hour ticket - get the tram from... More
