We have recently returned from a week's stay in this hotel. Having been an avid reader of the reviews, it was with mixed feelings we set out! We were lucky to have some very good weather which helped us appreciate the stunning setting and the beautiful island. It was a budget holiday and we both had a very good time. The... more

My boyfriend and I booked this holiday through Travelzoo. We didn't pay too much and we were fairly glad about that fact. The hotel location itself is stunning, although it doesn't get the sun until after 1pm in March (so assume this improves as the summer rolls on), so could be a little chilly early on. As the location is... more

Well i was pleasantly please with our hoiiday at this hotel, especailly our Sea View room which had jsut been refurbed with air con, so ask for a room on the 3rd floor . My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff were so helpful, the food was plentiful and well varied with fresh fish daily. I can... more

The hotel was alright, although the lobby and restaurant were well-kept the rooms felt rather dark and dingy. Cleanliness was moderate; on the final day there was an army of ants marching through the bathroom which made navigation difficult. As far as the food, it was definitely nothing special, and a far better choice to buy food at the little... more

After reading other reviews of Estalagem do Mar I'm wondering if we went to the same place! I loved the hotel, the food was varied, fresh, locally sourced and served well. Hats off to the chef, It was the first time we had been all inclusive somewhere and not wanted to eat anywhere else or drink anywhere else. The staff... more

Well now....I picked this holiday up on Travelzoo on our return from a lovely warm September week on Tenereife, and after a chat with the booking agent, decided to book to get the warmth in the bones we have come to expect from a jaunt in January. I'm glad we booked all inclusive (first time) because of the poor euro,... more

Rooms were OK and hotel itself was fine for the summer but DO NOT GO THERE IN JANUARY. Sun can't get over the mountains until at least mid-Feb. Permanent sea spray - everything damp. Food was OK but not exciting. Spa pool wasn't hot enough. Far too quiet and under-occupied. Few facilities in hotel or resort, No English TV -... more

Where do we start? Advertised beach 300 mtrs (I think they meant boulders , no sand, waves 10-20 ft high, no sun until late March/April. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do after the first day, walking and mountaineering is about all, no entertainment unless you call a battered snooker and pool table entertainment, all inclusive means very very basic food and drinks... more

I have just returned from my second visit to this little jem. The staff are so friendly and will go out of their way to help. The food is fresh local produce and the room clean and tidy. The views are amazing and there are some really nice cafes and restaurants just outside of the hotel to which are lovely... more
