We went on a day trip to Shimba hills expecting to find abundance of elephants and some wild animals all we saw was a couple of exotic birds very expensive day out defiantly not worth it also if you are not fully mobile and 100% fit DO NOT TAKE A WALK TO SHELDRICK FALLS going down isn't to bad but... I visited this Amazing place yesterday with my two Great friends and my Daughter. What a wonderful place which I didn't know it existed in the heart of Shimba Hills National Reserve. Very welcoming staff ready to help and answer all questions you might have. A wooden Bridge leading to a platform view to the pod, A hut on the... More

We added a night at Shimba to our Tsavo safari, and were so glad we did. The lodge is timber and very picturesque. There is a wooden bridge which leads to a viewing platform, it is all very higgledy piggledy but serene and beautiful. There is a watering hole, which can be viewed from the bar, restaurant or room balcony.... More

We stayed at the Shimba Lodge as part of our two day safari! Wow what an amazing place! The lodge itself is fantastic. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast which were all faultless. There were choices for all three meals. The service from the two lads who served us was just amazing. We went out to watch the sunset and... More

tltle says it all. It was clean and basic. The staff very efficient and friendly, and the food very good.everything just looked tired and dated. We knew the rooms had no shower or toilet, so were prepared. Felt very much like being in the 'bush'...didn't appreciate the bushbabies coming into the dining hall and eating the salads..only to be shooed... More

We stayed for 3 nights in November in one of the suites. Unfortunately, we seemed to be the only guests at that stage which meant that the three activities we had booked (morning game drive, Sheldrick Falls walk and sundowner drive) all had to be undertaken on the second day to 'save on vehicle hire', leaving us kicking our heels... We have spent quite a bit of time on safari and wanted to see a different landscape. We weren't disappointed. The forest is home to a vast array of animals, and so, even on a short safari, we saw an awful lot of variety, as well as the wonderful landscape views from the higher spots in the park. We stayed... We visited Shimba Hills Reserve and Lodge as a 1-day trip, booked through Diani Tours and Safaris. Our advice would be that, if you are incorporating your visit to Shimba into a Safari and Beach holiday, you visit BEFORE your main safari. We, on the other hand, did it the other way round, and after the excitement of seeing lions/leopards... More
