We were positively surprised by our stay at Sanom Beach! A private beach with bungalows directly by the beach. A very simple standard on the room with cold water. Mosquito net over bed was new and worked perfectly. Bring your own candles and the stay is perfect. Great hammock on terrace! Great staff and locally owned made it a true... More

We stayed there for 3 nights and it was a very unpleasant stay. The owner is very lazy, unfriendly and even blame their customers. The bungalows are not well maintained, very dirty and the bathroom smells like hell! Our bungalow was not cleaned when we arrived and the dirty toiletseat was one of the worst we ever came across during... More

Accommodation is (very) simple, but you have an almost private beach with soft white sand, beautiful snorkling possibilities and friendly staff to help you. It is true, noise from the long tail boats was annoying but traffic ceases after 10 am and is probably a lot worse around Pattaya beach. At night, you hear some faint music (bass) coming from... After having travelled southeast asia for five month and having spent between 12 and 60 Dollars for the guesthouses we stayed at (the one for 60 Dollars was deluxe) we arrived at Sanom Beach Resort. We had to pay the whole amount for our stay in advance to secure our booking, since it was peak time we paid 70 Dollars... More

I really can't understand why this resort ranks number 4 on Koh Lipe, there are much nicer places to stay. At night instead of listening to the sound of the sea we were kept awake by the music coming from the bars on the main beach. THE MUSIC IS SO LOUD that it was impossible to fall asleep. What's more... More

This place looks rough, rustic and very basic. If you are looking for a quiet and secluded beach away from the crowd, this is it. It is located at the very end corner of Pattaya Beach and not well accessible. I did not stay at this place there but I was drawn to its beach - actually a hidden cove... More

Paradise without Swimmingpool and TV, basic but clean with privatbeach not far from the mainbeach. The resort has a nice small restaurant but not for dinner. The service is excellent and you feel like part of a family.

Yes it gets a little more crowded than a few years ago but the people who come are all in the same mellow and respectful mood. Cheng, mariona and Miguel are amazing and hard working people who deserve 10 stars each. Such great service and cold beers and decent food. Living there is quiet and peaceful and it was really... We stayed for 10 wonderful days for the New Year celebrations and could not have been happier than we were at Sanom. Our group had three bungalows and although the accomodations are very basic, we left with a taste of luxury: Waking up to a perfect, nearly private clean beach and a cup of coffee from the always generous and... Good points: Beautiful little bay. That's about it. The beach suffers from the long tail boats passing from Pattaya Beach from about 8:30am until approximately 10:00am and then the hoards arrive from the neighboring beach to find serenity and end up crowding it anyway. We did stay here during peak season (Xmas) so it may be quieter during other periods... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Be wellcome at Sanom Beach Lipe Resort on Koh Lipe, Thailand. Probably the best kept secret on the island. Nestled at one of the most unknown spots on the island our place has only 11 clean and charming bungalows . Acces is via a 5 min walk by the wooden bridge across the rocks at the western end of Pattaya Beach. Created in 2007 by Jeang, Sanom Beach Resort is one of the few places that are still locally run. It isn't much far that time when Koh Lipe was just an isolated island habitated only by few hundred people of an ancient tribe of sea nomads. Here in Sanom you'll travel back to those days and get a touch of the real Koh Lipe and its people. Trying to be even more respectful with the paradise where we live and for environmental reasons like saving water, less waste, ... All of us have to be consequent with our Beach carrying capacity. The Restaurant & All Services will be exclusively for Sanom Beach's Guests. The goal of it is to provide better service to you and be sensitive to sustainability issues. ... more   less
